In the current climate diversification is essential to maintain growth. We have achieved this by:• returning to our old markets: including themed finishes, and nightclubs• entering new markets: solid surfacing• working with new clients: Paul Smith, Overbury, Cuffe, Herve Leger, Waterford Wedgwood Royal Doulton• working with our existing clients in new locations: Qatar, New York, Berlin, Moscow

and Paris.

As in previous years we’ve invested in new technology and are now a leading fabricator of solid surfacing withthe skills and equipment to fulfil highly complex design requirements.

While our primary market remains the UK we have just started on site at a major theme park attraction in theParis area where we will provide themed finishes for a new attraction as well as bespoke features for anassociated new 400 cover restaurant. Our achievements have recently been recognized at the Aer LingusViscount Awards where we won Small Company of the Year and were runner-up in for theOverall Excellence Award.

Located on the 8th floor of the Intercontinental Hotel Park Lane,built on the site of the Queen’s childhood residence at 145Piccadilly, the Royal Suite provides 2,000 sq ft of luxurious spaceoverlooking Hyde Park. Designed with key references to theQueen’s life and collections the suite provides five bedrooms, fivebathrooms, a kitchen, a large lounge and a dining area. The Suitecan also be linked on request to the neighbouring duplex LondonSuite with together provides over 3,500 sq ft of bedroom andlounge space.

Such decadence comes at a cost however, with the reported ratebeing in excess of £12,000 per night

Acclaimed American fitness club and celebrity hang-outEquinox opened their first European branch in London inNovember. A conversion of the infamous 70’s nightclub TheRainbow Room underneath the Kensington Roof Gardens theclub provides a new level of luxury in the London gym market.The Deluxe Group provided the bespoke joinery for thescheme including mirror units with integrated TVs, the lounge,reception, and feature wall panelling (comprising walnut, oak,and smoked mirror) throughout.

Solid Surfacing

The Deluxe Group are approvedfabricators of Corian and LG Hi-Macs.

Following our investment last year inCADCAM machinery, including a new 5axis CNC Processing Centre, the DeluxeGroup have recently installed new solidsurfacing equipment including a largeformat thermoforming oven and a highpressure vacuum press.

Combined with our existing joinerytechnology this new equipment means thatwe can provide full manufacturingcapabilities for the creation of large andcomplex shapes, panels and featuresthrough the process of thermoforming.Solid surfacing materials such as Corianand LG Hi-Macs provide strength,durability and hygiene and with an almostlimitless design potential in providingeither flat or organic seamless shapes in adiverse range of colours andspecifications.

For Royal Sun Alliance’s offices in Belfastthe Deluxe Group were able to provide anew feature reception desk, frompreparation of a design concept toinstallation on site in under 3 weeks.

Deluxe has also provided solid surfacingcontracts for clients including Harrods,Royal Sun Alliance, Damsel in a Dress,Seagate, and East Surrey Hospital.

The project provided a fundamental make-over of the Men’sFormalwear department to provide a luxurious shoppingexperience replete with wood panelled walls, chesterfield sofasin the style of a High-End Gentleman’s Club.

The 6500 sq ft space provides off-the-peg suits as well asbespoke suits and a personal shopping suite. There is also a bararea where customers can enjoy a drink while reading a book orwatching a film.

Waterford WedgwoodRoyal DoultonWWRD have recently updated theirhigh-end retail concessions to providea more contemporary feel using newsolid surfacing materials. The DeluxeGroup carried out the roll-outinternationally including Harrods,Brown Thomas (Ireland), Kaufhaus desWestens (KaDeWe) in Berlin,Bloomingdales New York, and Doha’sBarwa Commercial Avenue.

London Hilton MetropoleDeluxe have recently provided thebespoke joinery works to therefurbishment of the East Lobby at theLondon Hilton Metropole to providethe new Edg Bar, Executive Loungeand Whiskey Bar. Deluxe’s scopeincluded the supply and installation ofbars, wall panelling, louvred panels,wall displays, waiter stations andbanquette seating.

In the News : Special FXThe Deluxe Group made the headlines in February by being appointed by a Worldrenowned theme park in Paris to provide two theming contracts with a total value inexcess of £2m.

The first contract will see the Deluxe Group provide a range of themed wall treatmentsand finishes to the park’s new flagship ride which is due to open in 2014.

Deluxe second contract at the theme park will be to provide key themed features to anew 400 cover restaurant with direct links to the new ride.

Hot News : Aer Lingus Viscount AwardsThe Deluxe Group are delighted to have been awarded Small Company of the Year at theAer Lingus Viscount Awards held at the RAC Club, Pall Mall on April 23rd.

Hervé Léger : RetailThe high-end fashion group BCBG Max Azria Group recently employed The DeluxeGroup to provide the fit-out of the concessions for their exclusive Hervé Léger ladiesfashion designer in Harrods’ Knightsbridge store and on Moscow’s Kuznezkiy Most.

Sky Studio : Solid SurfacingAs part of the bespoke joinery package to the refurbishment of the Sky Galleries at theO2 Arena the Deluxe Group provided new features and wall panels in solid surfacematerials, as well as a new feature Sky News / Sports Desk.

Queens Club, Kensington : LeisureEstablished in 1886, The Queen’s Club is considered to be the first multipurpose sportscomplex in the World. As part of its 125th Anniversary celebrations in 2011 the Queen’sClub embarked on a refurbishment of the Dressing Rooms, Rackets Galleries andTerrace Room. The Deluxe Group provided the bespoke joinery for the project.

Jeff LoveProduction ManagerDeluxe Workshop – Portadown

It’s up to me and my team to manufacture all the bespokejoinery works for our various sites.

After catching up on emails and checking with the Site Managers on each project Iattend our daily planning meeting. I meet up with the rest of the team from Design,Procurement and Operations to discuss all the ongoing and upcoming projects toensure that we’re all up to speed with developments and that each project isprogressing smoothly.

Once the meeting is over I can check on progress on the workshop floor, dealingwith individual issues, ensuring that drawings and materials are available for thenext set of components being manufactured and checking the quality of each unitat key stages, especially before they are packaged up ready for site.

Every Friday I’ll pull the workshop team together and I’ll deliver a tool box talk.

In the afternoon I try to set aside time to prepare cutting lists and plan for the nextset of drawings issued by our Design Department.

Two or three times a week we’ll be sending a truck to site, some weeks we’lldespatch 5 or 6 trucks! To ensure the truck doesn’t miss the boat it needs to leaveour workshop by 4pm so I have to make sure all the items on the delivery list havebeen checked against our drawings and signed off for quality. I’ll then recheck it tomake sure it is well packaged to prevent any damage in transit. If the truck leavesus at 4pm our sites in London can take delivery by 10am the next day.

Once the truck is away I can start to plan for tomorrow and the next delivery.
