IntroductionThe Benson range of cabinet heaterscombines innovative design with aproven four pass heat exchangertechnology to provide a high effi ciencycost effective and durable range.

The units may be specifi ed for eitherfree blowing applications or for use withductwork.

Units are manufactured in accordancewith ISO 9001 accreditation, all heatereffi ciencies are compliant with Part L2Bof the 2010 Building Regulations with themajority of models also meeting thehigher effi ciency requirements forEnhanced Capital Allowances.

Model RangeCabinet heaters are available as either gas or oil fi red models.

• Gas fi red cabinet heaters are suitable for use with Natural Gas (G20), most units can also be specifi ed for Propane (G31)

• Oil fi red cabinet heaters are suitable for use with Class D gas oil (35 sec), most units can also be specifi ed for Kerosene (28 sec oil)

Vertical freestanding models are available from 32kW to 380kW

Horizontal and Down fl ow models from 58kW to 380kW

This symbol verifi es that the product has been independently assessed and currently qualifi es for the ECA scheme, an upfront tax relief enabling businesses that invest in energy-saving equipment to claim 100% fi rst-year capital allowances against their taxable profi ts.

Specifi cationCabinetsCabinets are constructed from electro-zinc coated steel with an inner heat shieldskin and an epoxy powder coat fi nish outer skin to form a rigid and durable casework.

Air DistributionCentrifugal fan(s) circulate large airvolumes evenly across the full heatexchanger surface for enhanced life expectancy. Fans on models 30 to 85 aredirect drive with a single phase motor. Larger models have belt drive fans and three phase motors compliant with directive 2005/32/EC.

Free blowing heaters are fi tted with longthrow discharge nozzles complete with horizontal louvres. Nozzles can be rotated through 360o. Models 75-375 are supplied with a raised rear nozzle (oneper three nozzle heater and two per four nozzle heater).

Heaters for use with ductwork aresupplied with a duct outlet spigot.

Heat Exchanger and BurnerFour pass combustion chamber/heatexchanger assembly provides improvedthermal effi ciency with extended life expectancy. A stainless steel chamberis combined with a high effi ciency tubular heat exchanger to achieve thermal effi ciency in excess of 91%

The complete assembly is mounted toallow for thermal expansion therebyavoiding undue thermal stress andpremature heat exchanger failure.

Gas fi red units are fi tted with a fullyautomatic forced draught burner completewith full safety controls to EN676 and theheaters are CE certifi ed.

Oil fi red units are supplied complete witha fully automatic burner complete withsafety controls and factory fi tted fi re valve and oil fi lter. An additional external fi re valve may be required in accordance with BS 5410:Part2:1978.

ControlsA combined fan and limit switch is fi ttedon all heaters.

In the event of overheating the unit would automatically be shut down by the limitthermostat.

All heaters are supplied with an electronicprogrammer complete with optimisedcontrol, this is factory fi tted and wiredon free-blowing vertical models. Forhorizontal, and all duct outlet models down fl ow heaters the controller is supplied loose for on site wiring by the installer.
