Every morning dawned in theusual manner with humanbeings carrying out their cus-tomary activities without therealisation of how much de-

terioration we had already caused to ournature and environment until one daylife came to a standstill and the entirehuman race was left baffled at the un-certainty of future due to COVID 19. It’sbeen more than forty days now to thelockdown and we are sad witnesses tothe deserted roads, desolated malls ,empty school buildings, locked officesand consequently a crumbling econo-my. Nonetheless, I feel, as an educatorour role has assumed significance as weare dealing with the young minds whowould perhaps be hugely affected withthis state of emergency.

So, being the head of an institutionI along with my team of teacherschalked out a planner and digital timetable for our students to keep them mo-tivated and handle their academic anx-ieties. An assembly schedule was alsoadumbrated to ensure their progressand also satiate their psychologicalneeds. Whether it’s a subject like Mathsor language like Sanskrit or any othersubject to talk of, every teacher is car-rying out her duty with commitmentand devotion and making the use of tech-nology in the best way. PT teachers aresending their recorded videos to en-courage the students to stay fit. The par-ticipation of the students not only in ac-ademic activities but also online com-petitions like singing, dancing, speech,news reading, graffiti, recitation etc. hasbeen overwhelming. It’s heartening to

see them posting their videos and wait-ing eagerly for the results. The appreci-ation and commendation being received

from our parent community is itself areassurance that we are in it togetherand together we will come out of it.

Celebration of Astronomy month

Vansh Chhabra (X) ofPathways WorldSchool, Aravali duringhis morning jog high-

lighted the plight of the con-struction workers in hiscolony. With his parents’support he established thea response fund, which hassuccessfully provided 21-day dry packs and freshfood to 200 families of wageworkers in colonies ofSouth Delhi, East Delhi andGurugram so far. They havemanaged to collect Rs 10,000towards this cause. Besidesreaching out to family andfriends for the donation to thefund, Vansh and his cousin creat-ed a website page that is inviting

donation for this cause. Vansh isworking in a methodical and ded-icated manner to ensure this as-sistance reaches maximum people

and he is hopeful that he will con-tinue this endeavour beyond theCorona times as well.

To appreciate the beauty of thenight sky and to raise awareness of howpoor-quality lighting creates light pol-lution, students celebrated Interna-tional Dark Sky Week by organizing astar party at home, observing the nightsky and making their parents aware

about the impact of lightpollution on astronom-ical studies.

Students also cele-brated Yuri’s Night andwrote messages for theFirst Man in Space YuriGagarin. Astro Gyaan

activity was organised in which stu-dents acted like Astronomy Teachersand taught their parents about As-tronomy and Space Science. Capturethe Supermoon contest was also con-ducted. Parents too wrote amazingpoem on Astronomy theme.

A FEW SUGGESTIONS TO PROGRESS DURING THESEUNCERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES:1. Follow the norm of social distancing but do not isolate yourself socially.

2. Wash, clean and sanitize your hands at regular intervals at the sametime clean yourselves of the vices like hatred, pride, jealousy, backbit-ing, lying, cheating etc.
