The Diamond in the RAW Foundation in conjunction with Stone Cold Action,will be hosting the 11th Annual Action Icon Awards. This glitzy awardsceremony honors the unsung heroines behind the scenes, stuntwomen,Entertainment professionals, and women who dare to be different. Thishighly anticipated event attracts some of the hardest working action orientedwomen working in Hollywood along with A-list action stars, entertainmentexecutives, extreme sports enthusiasts and Olympic athletes.

The Action Icon Awards ceremony is the brainchild of Veteran Stuntwomanand Stunt Coordinator La Faye Baker. It was her intent to change the imbalanceof women behind the scenes and below the line in the entertainment industry.This ceremony was designed to honor, acknowledge, and encourage femalestunt performers to compete in an industry that was more favorable to theirmale counterparts. In today’s industry, there is a startling imbalance of jobs,based on gender, in front of the camera and behind the scenes - particularlyin the stunt community - and this disproportionately affects women of color.Overall, male performers receive a vast majority of entertainment careeropportunities in comparison to their female counter partners thus creatingan atmosphere of discrimination and aging women out of the business at40 and while men maintain a career well into their 60’s.

The Action Icon Awards has become the original platform and premiere eventfor action –oriented sequences performed by women. The event bringsawareness and introduces to the public a more in depth look at the womenwho place their lives on the line for some of these award winning films andtelevision projects. The proceeds of this event benefits the Diamond in theRAW Foundation.

The AIA benefits the Diamond in the RAW Foundation.The foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organizationdedicated to empowering and transforming the lives offoster care and at-risk teen girls between the ages of 12-18through S.T.E.A.M., (Sciences, Technology, Engineering,Arts, Mathematics). The organization specializes inmentoring, leadership, education, business etiquette,scholarships, and providing pertinent information aboutexciting career options.

OUR GOALSWe aim to serve as a deterrent to gang violence, bullying,domestic violence, human trafficking, substance abuse,unwanted pregnancy and delinquent behaviors thatoften lead to destructive cycles in at-risk communities.It is within our mission that we accomplish our goalsthrough the You’re Beautiful Inside & Outside, PreciousStone Mentorship, What’s Your Issue, Concepts in a BOXLeadership Film Boot Camp and DiamondsN2Codingprograms.

OUR PROGRAMSOur programs are specifically designed to build self-esteem and confidence by encouragingour teen girls to think outside of the box. We offer scholarships to teen girls who haveconsistently exemplified the talent and tenacity to think “Outside of the Box.”
