Dubai has unveiled a “Silk Road Strategy” to establish the Emirates as a global trade & logistics hub.
The Belt and Road Summit provide a platform for dialogue & discussions between policymakers, experts & practitioners. The initiative will address the potentials of the participative economy and financial system.
The end goal of this summit is to offer incredible opportunities to boost the global economy, develop the infrastructure of the emerging countries, increase production & trade, &offer employment & opportunities that will eventually reduce unemployment, poverty and stagnation while raising the purchasing power of people”. The initiative hopes to improve transparency within the supply chain industry and help speed up transactions, improve security and reduce counterfeit goods trade.
The summit aims to connect societies, economies & people & boost global growth in multiple sectors and industries through developed infrastructure and new trade routes.
The scope of Belt and Road Summit is to “support entrepreneurs in enhancing their capabilities, accelerate business transactions, increase security and reduce trade in counterfeit goods, and provide reliable information to parties anywhere and anytime”.
The UAE government has implemented effective procedures and plans to ensure a favourable business environment in the country. Belt and road Summit is positioning UAE as one of the best countries in the world for ease of doing business.

UAE plays a crucial role in the Belt and Road initiative, using its infrastructure to create a centre for trade to the region as a gateway to Africa and the wider Middle East.
The UAE’s infrastructure and connectivity and lessons learnt from the projects could be beneficial to planning and executing Belt and Road initiative in the region and in neighbouring countries in Central Asia.
Building logistics infra-structure to position Dubai as a global hub of innovation. UAE is reshaping the global trading system and eliminating trade barriers such as high-costs, lack of transparency, diversification of legislation and lack of security in business transactions.
Dubai’s strategic geographic location and it’s region-leading logistics infrastructure to position the city as a global hub for innovation and setting the bar for cities across the world.
Dubai Silk road strategy is part of the 50-year charter to boost air and sea freight and enhance logistical integration. The new Dubai Silk Road strategy comprises nine initiatives and 33 projects.
