Hello People!
We are so excited to announce that through a generous donation, we are able to purchase a brand new stove! This is a commercial unit – with six burners, flat griddle, and has both a regular oven and convection oven! It will really help preparing food for our large parties, dinners and breakfast.
There are many people with generous hearts that help make our center so successful! We receive many donated items – for the Nook, the kitchen, our fundraiser and for day to day activities. This month, we are honoring those who volunteer at the center. Some may be answering phones, preparing a meal, driving the bus, decorating the center or leading a craft or game. Others might be picking up Panera bread or donuts from Uptown Bakery. We appreciate everyone and everything thing you do for our center!
Cheers!Kathy and Dawn

Calcutta Winner – Our February winner for our 50-50 drawing was Wyatt Ramsey!
He split the pot with the senior center, taking home $163.00. The center’s portion, $163.00will go towards the many activities and parties for our center. Calcutta is a great way to supplement our “FUN FUND”.
The wheels on the bus go ‘round and ‘round… all the way to Walnut IA. You can
join us for breakfast at 9:00 am and then hop on the bus at 10:00 am. Spend the day exploring the antique shops in Walnut, grab a bite of lunch, then return to Bellevue around 3:00 pm. The bus trip is $5.00. Breakfast at the center is $3.00, be sure to sign up at the front desk. The breakfast and trip are on Tuesday, April 25th at 9:00 am.
Durham Museum Trip Catch a glimpse of one of the nation’s premiere racing tracks of
yesteryear – AK-SAR-BEN Race track ! Many from around the Midwest traveled to Omaha for its premier racetrack. Durham Museum has captured the memories in photographs and objects for the once famous track. You can also explore how Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo acted ahead of its time in placing an emphasis on conservation, research programming and improving the quality of life for its animals. Sign up for lunch then enjoy the trip - Friday, April 7th at 12:30 pm. The total cost is $13.00 ($8.00 for the museum, and $5.00 for the bus.)
Mystery Items We have noticed items being brought into the center and do not know where
they came from . Please bring all items for the nook or the free table to the office. We can not put out or sell opened containers (shampoos, lotion, perfume, candy etc). We greatly appreciate donations to sell in the nook, but they must be brought to the office. Thank you.

Volunteer Appreciation Week April 23-29
Our Volunteers are the heart and soul of our center. They come to work with a smile on their face, a spring in their step, and love in their heart. They are not paid with a check or receive a bonus. Instead, they are happy to be “paid” with a smile, a “thank you”, and a feeling of knowing they helped make someone else’s day. They give their time generously without any expectation of reward. The friends they make, the fun
and laughter they share, the sense of belonging, and the satisfaction of knowing they are helping is all they need. They may never really know the positive impact they have on someone’s life. It’s our job to let them know what they mean to us! We
appreciate and value their time and commitment to volunteering at our senior center!
Please thank our wonderful 2016 volunteers!
