A few words from the PrincipalIs leath den fhéile fáilte chaoin (half of hospitality isa warm welcome) and so on behalf of the Board ofManagement and School staff of St. John the BaptistJunior Boys' School, I am delighted to welcome youto this year’s table quiz.

As you may know, we have just completed the firstphase of a joint building programme as a result ofwhich we have ten spacious and beautifullyappointed classrooms. The challenge for us is toequip them with the resources and extras whichhave distinguished our School in terms of what weoffer the children we teach here in Belgrove.Eventssuch as Arts Week and visits by theatre companiesas well as the rich variety of interactive andconcrete materials would not be possible withoutthe money generated here tonight.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of you, oursponsors, especially during these challenging timesfor business. Economic research suggests that every€100 spent in locally owned businesses contributesan extra €55 to the local economy through themultiplier effect. We, the school body, urge all theparents and other attendees here tonight to supportour local businesses when the opportunity presents.
