Major: Environmental Engineering, Fall 2018
Positions held: Recruitment chair, Social Chair, Philanthropy Chair
Goal: I would like to continue to increase our numbers with quality men of character and to make our chapter more financially sound
Best memory in Greek Life so far:
This past homecoming is probably my favorite memory in Greek life. just having all the alumni back in town having a blast tailgating and sharing stories with different generations of phi taus before the game. It really puts it into perspective how you're part of something bigger than yourself. Hidden Talent: I can snap a pencil clean in half with my bare hands
APRIL SPOTLIGHTS
FRATERNITY SPOTLIGHT…
NATHAN HOWARD!
SORORITY SPOTLIGHT…
Emily Kane!
Best part about Greek Life: Is everything! Even the most difficult parts, because we get through them together and end up a stronger organization in the end.
Positions Held:
President, Director of Ritual, VP Membership Development & Director of New Member
Education
Major: Elementary Education, December 2017
Hidden Talent: I'm not sure that I have any hidden
talents but I was a majorette for 10 years so I guess that could count
Favorite Greek Memory: How my Greek journey began. The support I had from members of Greek Life was astonishing and I will forever be thankful for them.
Jeffrey Ferony, a Lambda Chi Alpha shared a great picture and memory of the Phi Iota chapter from the Spring of 1985 in front of the Shepherd Library. At the time, Lambda Chi Alpha had 50-60 members. Brother Mark Hewitt stated, “This picture was taken at 7am on a Saturday, and some griping was going on while walking down concerning whose idea it was. Thank God I made the walk, it was a classic picture!” Jeffrey stated, “Who knew that one day I would be writing about this picture. I have been blessed to have been part of a fraternity that has such a solid alumni program. Karl Wolf has been our advisor since the beginning, and we owe him a lot. My son Nicholas has witnessed it at homecoming and other events and he will be attending Shepherd next fall!” Jeffrey looked at the photo at a later time and thought it reminded him of the cover the Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Album! How cool! We love when we get to hear memories from your Greek experience at Shepherd. If anyone else has a memory to share please send them to [email protected]. Picture in the photo (to the best ability of memory & spelling):

ALUMNI THROWBACK
GREEK HOUSING AT SHEPHERD?!
Have you heard? Most recently an opportunity has arose to
create a community for the Social Greek organizations on
campus. Pending participation, The Westwood Complex, can be
reserved for Fall 2017 should a chapter want to partake in this
opportunity. Personalization of buildings, and possibly a special
name for the new community, will occur as the commitment
builds and halls get filled. Common Space will be available for
chapters to meet, as well as an activity fund to hold events for the
Shepherd Community. We are excited to see what comes of this
opportunity over the next semester. Greek housing will serve as a
tremendous opportunity to market our Greek Organizations on
campus! Alumni, if you
are interested in make
a monetary
donation to support this
venture please contact Claire
West at [email protected]
