Temperature
• Measure of how fast the particles in an object are moving
• The faster they are moving the more energy they have
Volume
• Measure of the size of a body or region in three-dimensional space
• Depends on container
Pressure• Amount of force exerted per unit area of
a surface• Number of times the particles hit the
inside of their container• Higher pressure = more particles = closer
together• Lower pressure = less particles = farther
apart
Boyles Law: • States that for a fixed amount of gas at a
constant temperature, the volume of a gas increases as its pressure decreases.
