"Before Midnight" stars and co-writers Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy swung by "Jimmy Kimmel Live"on Monday after the Oscar Nominees Luncheon, which is not only "very important," but full of"craziness," including keg stands and accidental sexual harassment.

"She thought Christian Bale was me, and pinched his butt," Hawke told Kimmel (above).

"Almost. I was very close," Delpy corrected. "No, no. I moved it forward -- it felt like a movement.But it wasn't weird or anything. I don't think he felt it."

"Before Midnight," the third installment in Richard Linklater's romantic trilogy about therelationship between an American and French woman who fell in love in Paris "Before Sunrise" in1995, is nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.

"Which is kind of funny, because what ? are we exactly adapted from?" Hawke asked. "Everythingthat is a sequel gets 'Adapted'. So we're adapted from ourselves."

Like the two films beforehand, the sequel follows a series of conversations between the couple --except now those long talks are taking a turn for the worse, and constant arguing is threatening thestability of their relationship.

Kimmel had a hard time believing that the intricate interactions could be entirely scripted, but the

screenwriters assured the comedian that they earned their Oscar nomination.

"Everything is in the script," Delpy said. "It looks improvised, [but] it's entirely scripted."

Hawke added: "We're doing these long takes. We really can't. We rehearse them meticulously."
