To make it to Nashville, you must qualify first. Qualifying Events are being held across every state and throughout

Canada. Each event is a test of skill and workmanship to complete a task using IDEAL® tools. The best scores in every

state advance to the IDEAL National Championship Finals, while those with the best scores of each Qualifying Event

will win an exclusive IDEAL T®-Stripper wire stripper and YETI Colster®. Events are open to Professionals and Students/

Apprentices to compete individually, or in teams of two in the Pro-Am Challenge where 1 Professional and 1 Student

INDIVIDUALS

The Professional and Student/Apprentice with the fastest times in

each state/territory, will advance to the Championship Weekend.

In addition, the top 3 individual competitors from 2018 will

return for a chance to defend their titles.

There will also be 14 Wild Card slots available for Professionals

and Students/Apprentices respectively. These will be filled by

the 3 fastest individuals from each US region (North, South,

East and West) who do not win their state/territory’s bid and

the 2 fastest remaining individuals from Canada.

CONTRACTOR & SCHOOL CHALLENGES

The top 5 Contractor teams of two and the top 5 School teams of

two will advance to the Championship Weekend.

What are the 2020 challenges that I can compete in? Individual Pro and Student/Apprentice ChallengeReturning to 2020 is the Individual Pro and Student/Apprentice Challenge. See if you have what it takes to compete on the ultimate stage for your share of over $600,000 in cash and prizes.

Pro-Am ChallengeNew to 2020, we are in search of the best Pro-Student/Apprentice Team. In a challenge that mixes the trade’s veterans with the beginners, 1 Student/Apprentice and 1 contractor-affiliated Professional will team up to compete for their share of $600k in cash and prizes.

While competitors can compete in the Qualifying Round as both an Individual and as part of a Team, competitors may only compete in one division at the IDEAL National Championship Finals.

How do I find out about Qualifying Round Events near me? Visit idealnationals.com or download our IDEAL National Championship app to see a full list of Qualifying Events in each state/territory.

How can I prepare for Qualifying Round Events? Before attending a Qualifying Round Event, competitors will need to register online at idealnationals.com. You must register online ahead of the event in order to compete.

Once registered, be sure to check out the How-To Video, which explains the competition and judging requirements. Competitors can also purchase the 2020 Qualifying Round board and the necessary tools to practice on idealnationals.com.

What do I need to bring with me to Qualifying Round Events? When you arrive at a Qualifying Round Event, you will need to know the email address you used to register as a competitor in order to Check-In at the event.

You will be provided with all the necessary tools, supplies and required protective gear at the event. You are permitted to bring your own IDEAL® tools to compete with if you choose. Only IDEAL® tools will be permitted for use in the competition.

How do I Check-In to an event? Head to idealnationals.com and click on “Check-In” in the upper right corner of the homepage. Then, fill in the fields with your email address and the Check-In code provided at the event. You’re all set!
