Glob l Citizen THROUGH INTERNATIONAL STUDY AT CLAYTON STATE UNIVERSITY!

AN AFFORDABLE CHOICE TO TRAVELTraveling abroad shouldn’t be expensive. Clayton State makes it very affordable by including airfare and lodging at hotels or with host families in the program costs. Some meals and excursions are also covered for certain programs.

Tuition, passport, and other fees are not included, but study abroad scholarships are available to cover additional costs.

STUDY ANYTIME DURING THE SCHOOL YEARClayton State programs are offered during the Spring and Summer semesters. However, within the University System of Georgia, programs are offered every semester, and you can even participate in programs lasting the entire academic year. Some students choose to go abroad early in their Clayton State careers, while other students travel during their senior year.

Traveling during your senior year may not be applicable due to your graduation date. The important thing is to plan early and to incorporate study abroad into your overall Clayton State experience from the beginning.

Destinations are selected by faculty to offer students enriching learning experiences that match degree curriculum.

Be it learning about the cultural history of some of the oldest cities in Europe, directing a film in South Korea, or taking a snorkeling trip to view coral reefs in Caribbean beaches, study abroad is an excellent way to take the classroom to the real-world.

Programs are not limited to specific majors though the program requirements may differ depending on your major. Speak with your Academic Advisor to verify that you are staying on track for graduation and whether or not the course will fulfill your academic needs.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSIs study abroad right for me?

Studying abroad inspires and prepares you to become successful in a progressively interconnected world. All Clayton State students in good academic standing are eligible to study abroad. Please note study abroad programs do have GPA and/or eligibility requirements for participation. Students must also be cleared to travel by their healthcare physician and/or the University Health Services with a Health Clearance Form.

What are my next steps?

Come see us! Stop by the Study Abroad Office located in Office 204 in the James M. Baker University Center. We’re on the second floor on Main Street across from the Loch Nest convenience store. We can review the basics of studying abroad such as locations, program type, academics, application procedures, financial aid, scholarships, and other funding opportunities. After visiting with our office, we advise students to speak with their Academic Advisor to make sure the program fits with the students’ academic requirements.
