Edward P. Gallagher, MT-BC Director of Education 216.521.2540 x12 | [email protected] Ed holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Cleveland State University and pursuing a graduate certificate in nonprofit management through the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Founded Beck Center’s Creative Arts Therapies program in 1994. He serves as the President of the Cleveland Arts Education Consortium, is a member of the Ohio Music Therapy Task Force and has been appointed to serve on the Ohio Arts Council’s Artists with Disabilities Access Program. He is past president of the Great Lakes Region of the American Music Therapy Association (GLR-AMTA) and the Association of Ohio Music Therapists (AOMT), and serves several community agencies including VSA Ohio/Cleveland Division. He received the GLR-AMTA 2007 Service Award, the AOMT Past President’s Award in 2012 and has been inducted into the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame. He has been recognized by the City of Lakewood for bringing the healing power of music to the community. Each summer he serves as Camp Manager for the All-Ohio State Fair Band, a 200-member high school honors band comprised of students from throughout the state. Jim was in New York City working as a dance instructor and choreographer. In New York, he was the premier tap instructor at Harlem School of the Arts (HAS). While at HSA, he worked closely with Disney to develop Lion King Kids and Junior workshops. Jim become a certified curriculum instructor with American Ballet Theatre. As of 2015 he planted roots in the Cleveland area, and began instructing at Beck Center. Jim believes every child and student can benefit from dance while having serious fun. Louise (Lou) Hadaway Jazz, Tap, and Ballet Lou originated from York, England, a Musical Theater graduate from London's Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She relocated to Cleveland in 2010 upon retirement from 20 years of performing, teaching, and hiring dancers for Carnival Cruise Lines. Lou currently teaches for the Dance (Jazz, Tap, Ballet), Theater (Musical Theatre Dance), and Outreach Department at the Beck Center. Lou also teaches Jazz for the Dance Department at Cleveland State University and is a Choreographer for the CSU Vikings Dance Team.

In her early years, she was named Miss Dance Michigan and performed as a soloist with Dance Detroit; she studied with George Zorich and on full scholarship with the School of Cleveland Ballet.

Jim Becker – Ballet Jim began teaching after more than a decade of performing across the world in shows and events for some of the largest global entertainment companies. Jim was in New York City working as a dance instructor and choreographer. In New York, he was the premier tap instructor at Harlem School of the Arts (HAS). While at HSA, he worked closely with Disney to develop Lion King Kids and Junior workshops. Jim become a certified curriculum instructor with American Ballet Theatre. As of 2015 he planted roots in the Cleveland area, and began instructing at Beck Center. Jim believes every child and student can benefit from dance while having serious fun.

Louise (Lou) Hadaway – Jazz, Tap, and Ballet Lou originated from York, England, a Musical Theater graduate from London's Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She relocated to Cleveland in 2010 upon retirement from 20 years of performing, teaching, and hiring dancers for Carnival Cruise Lines. Lou currently teaches for the Dance (Jazz, Tap, Ballet), Theater (Musical Theatre Dance), and Outreach Department at the Beck Center. Lou also teaches Jazz for the Dance Department at Cleveland State University and is a Choreographer for the CSU Vikings Dance Team.

Maria Hanley – Early Childhood Dance Maria is a passionate advocate for early childhood dance education. She left New York City to teach children in the Greater Cleveland area. Maria designed and implemented ballet programs for the young families and after school division at the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan. In Brooklyn, Maria taught creative movement, creative ballet, and parent/toddler classes at Dancewave Center and The Mark Morris Dance Group. She also taught with New York City Ballet in their outreach program. Maria holds a Master’s degree in dance education from New York University (2007) and a Bachelor’s degree in dance performance from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania (2005). Joan Hartshorne – Healthy Spine Joan has a BA from University of Wisconsin in biology. Danced with Jose Limon from 1959-1961 and headed the dance department at Karamu House from 1961-1981. Received her MFA in Dance from Case Western Reserve University in 1994. Certified GYROKINESIS® and Pilates instructor. Enjoys making jewelry and plays second violin in the Suburban Symphony Orchestra. Megan Pitcher Young – Contemporary and Hip Hop Megan Pitcher Young has been artist in residence at Playhouse Square’s Idea Center, Site:Lab, Ingenuity Labs, Prairie Center of the Arts, and is a recipient of two residencies from Chicago Cultural Center/DCASE. She is a part-time faculty member at Kent State University and has taught guest workshops at University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC), Columbia College Chicago, and other venues. She holds a BFA in dance from Ohio University and an MFA in interdisciplinary art & media from Columbia College Chicago.

Anna Roberts - Ballet Anna holds a BFA in Dance from The University of Akron, has danced with Marronprater Dance and Music Co., Dancing Wheels and Verb Ballets. While dancing with Verb, she had the privilege of performing works by Martha Graham, David Parsons, Ulysses Dove, Heinz Poll, Sean Curran, and Paul Taylor. Also a certified Pilates and Zumba instructor. Anna loves taking walks with her chocolate lab, Coco, and curling up with a good book.

Lynda Sackett – Body Beautiful Lydia has a BS in Education from Baldwin-Wallace College. Studied with Dave Morgenstern, Louis Dapron and many dance masters. She is the recipient of the 2000 Ohio Dance Award for Advancement of Dance Education and the 2003 Award for Distinguished Contribution to Arts Education for Northeastern Ohio by the Ohio Arts Education Association. Served in numerous capacities at Beck Center including founding Director of Dance, Director of Outreach and guided educational programs for many years.

Gwendolyn Holden Seckers – Boys Dance Gwendolyn is a graduate of the University of Georgia, she studied theatre and stagecraft at Northwestern University with early training in ballet/pointe, tap, and jazz was with Margaret Holden. She performed with New York City Ballet in Saratoga Springs, NY. A former adjunct faculty member of Middle Tennessee State University and teaching artist for the Cumberland County Playhouse, Mrs. Seckers was the assistant director of the Rutherford County Youth Ballet. She is a certified group fitness instructor, has teaching experience with children and adults in private studios, teaches ballet for athletes and conducts in-school workshops.

Mimi Schwensen - Tap and Ballet Mimi was a Radio City Rockette, danced in summer stock, on Broadway, and with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet. A dance teacher for competitive figure skaters, she has studied with Tallchief, Bob Audy, Matteo, Luigi, Gennaro, among others.

Jennifer Whitten – Ballet Jennifer Whitten enjoys sharing her love of ballet with her students. Her early dance education includes a scholarship at the National Academy of Arts and studying and performing with the Lafayette Ballet. She spent summer intensives in programs at Pacific Northwest Ballet, North Carolina School of the Arts, Joffery II, and with David Howard in NYC. Jennifer continues to participate in ballet intensives for adult dancers each summer with Sunking Dance at the Richmond Ballet.

Matthew Charboneau – Associate Director of Music Education 216.521.2450 x37 | [email protected] Matt holds a BM in Double Bass Performance from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and Master of Nonprofit Organization from CWRU’s Weatherhead School of Management. For the past twenty years he has been an entrepreneur, managing performing groups, running independent record labels, programming and promoting concerts, and providing arts-based project management and consulting services to the small business and nonprofit community. He was Director of the COSE Arts Network and was Associate Director of Roots of American Music. Mr. Charboneau is always open to as many musical styles as possible with a recent focus on performing jazz, Afro-Cuban, rock, Americana/traditional, bluegrass, and neo-folk music across NE Ohio and beyond.

Bruce Biggin - Oboe; English Horn Mr. Biggin has been playing the oboe and English Horn for 40 plus years. He plays with the Parma Symphony and Bay Village Community band and has lent his talents to at least a dozen other orchestral groups or community bands. He takes pride in all of his private oboe students - especially the three accepted into the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra. Bruce has studied with Loyal Mould and Danna Sundet in addition to master class experiences with John Mack, Frank Rosenwein, Jeff Rathbun, and Scott Hostettler at the John Mack Oboe camp. A member of the International Double Reed Society, Bruce was recently appointed to the sight-reading session committee. He is a registered pharmacist with a 30 year history at Metrohealth Medical Center Hospital.

James Binion – Voice James (Lyric Baritone), was born in Memphis, Tennessee, reared in Atlanta, Georgia, and now resides in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta and a Masters in vocal performance from Cleveland State University. James has performed nationally and internationally with the Atlanta Boy Choir, Morehouse College Glee Club, and the Atlanta Opera. Some of his recent engagements include Marullo (Rigoletto) with Opera Circle, Cleveland, Ceprano (Rigoletto) with Valley Lyric Opera, and a guest performance for NASA and John Glenn commemorating 50 years of Americans in space. Aside from performing, James has also worked as a speech coach for local news station WEWS.

Kathleen M. Bosl - Voice; Beginning and Intermediate Piano Kathleen has a BM in Education with Voice Performance major and Piano from Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music. Participated in intensive post-graduate study in classical vocal training and maintains her skills in private studios of prestigious teachers. Active concert and recital soloist who performed in Milan, Italy, and with the Cleveland Opera Chorus for several seasons. A soprano soloist for many Oratorios and serves as cantor for churches and synagogues.

Addie Deppa - Violin, Viola Addie holds a BM and Artist Diploma from Cleveland Institute of Music. She studied with Stanley Konopka, Jeffery Irvine, Robert Vernon, Sifei Cheng, Sally O'Reilly, Peter Slowik, Yair Kless and Richard Marshall. Ms. Deppa has played in the viola section of the Akron Symphony, Suburban Symphony and the Firelands Symphony and principal viola for Cleveland Women's Orchestra, Cleveland Institute of Music and the Minnesota Youth Symphonies. She is Suzuki certified in viola and violin through book 4.

Christopher Ellicott - Guitar, Ukulele Christopher has a BA in Music from Baldwin-Wallace College and AA in Humanities and Music from County College of Morris (NJ). Performs annually in the Classical Guitar Workshop at the University of Cincinnati and locally as a soloist and member of Sunday in the Park. Founder and director of Lakewood Guitar Consort. Studied under Dr. Loris Chobanian. Chris has completed 10 marathons.

Bruce Erwin - Violin, Viola, Fiddle Bruce has a BM from the University of Iowa and MM from Baylor University; completed doctoral coursework and two recitals at the University of North Texas. A member of ASTA and Suzuki Association of the Americas, he taught at El Campamento Musical Juvenil Panamá, Dallas-Fort Worth WOW Suzuki Institute and Suzuki Music Columbus Suzuki Institute. Ohio Scottish Fiddle Champion in ’97 and ’98. Bruce published a book of fiddle tunes called “The Fiddler’s Wrist.”

Brent Hamker - Guitar Brent Hamker has been performing music all over the Cleveland area for over a decade. He has had the privilege of studying and performing with many great masters of music all over the world, including Ernie Krivda, Bob Fraser, Victor Mendoza, Perico Sambeat, Dan Wilson, Stephen Enos, and many more. Brent began his education at Cuyahoga Community College in 2009 at the Tri-C Jazz Studies Program. In 2012 he began his studies at Cleveland State University where he earned is Bachelors in Music Performance in 2014. In the Summer of 2014 he moved to Valencia, Spain to begin his Master’s Degree in Contemporary Performance at Berklee College of Music’s Valencia Campus. While in Spain, Brent was fortunate enough to travel and be part of many performances throughout Europe. Upon graduating with his Master’s Degree from Berklee, Brent returned to Northeast Ohio to continue performing throughout the area and work on a vast array of new musical projects.

Trevor Kazarian – Cello Mr. Kazarian received his Bachelor of Music from DePaul University School of Music, studying with Stephen Balderston. He is also a former student of Richard Hirschl, cellist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Kazarian completed a Certificate in Professional Studies with Stephen Beber at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He is currently studying with Mark Kosower, principal cellist of the Cleveland Orchestra. He performs with "Strawberry Sunday" and Fireland's Symphony Orchestra in Sandusky, OH. His is principal cellist of TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra and subs with Canton symphony. In 2013, Trevor and his former quartet, "Commodore Quartet" were invited to be a part of the intensive String Quartet Seminar at CIM. In 2012, he was assistant principal cello for the National Repertory Orchestra's summer festival in Breckinridge Colorado.

Gabriella Martinez - Voice Gabriella holds a BM in Choral Directing from the University of Chile and MA in Vocal Performance at the Cleveland State University. Ms. Martinez began musical studies at the Alejandro Garcia Caturla Music Conservatory in Havana, Cuba and completed the high school music program at the National School of Music in Havana. In Santiago, she conducted several choirs including the adult choir of the Catholic University of Chile and the Choir of the Supreme Court of Santiago. From 2004 to 2008 she was the director of the adult choir and the youth choir of the Municipal Theater of Temuco, Chile. She performed soloist roles in La Traviata and Madama Butterfly at the Municipal Theater of Temuco. She was a Cleveland Orchestra Choir member during the 2008-2009 season.

Van Parker – French Horn; Mellophone Van has a BM from Oberlin Conservatory of Music and MA in Horn Performance and Literature from Northwestern University. A champion of new music, Van has been a member of the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble, the Northwestern Contemporary Music Ensemble, and has participated in premieres of works by Eric Whitacre, Lewis Nielsen, and Indiana composer Deborah Phelps from whom he commissioned the piece Cui Bono, a duet for horn and violin. Mr. Parker has also performed with Oak Park, River Forest, Waukegan, Lake Shore, and Sherwood Symphonies in Illinois and currently plays with the Firelands Symphony (Sandusky, OH) and Cleveland Winds. In recent seasons, Van also appeared in performances with the Akron, Ashland, Mansfield, and Youngstown Symphonies and the Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra. He performs frequently on historical instruments, most notably in a 2006 performance of Niccolo

Piccini’s 18th century opera, La Buona Figliuola. Thor Platter – Guitar; American Roots Music Thor began playing guitar at the age of 12. His love and passion for acoustic music was solidified at a young age. Thor spent his teenage and young adult years studying guitar under the direction of several prominent Western New York musicians. After moving to Cleveland in 2008, he has spent the past several years as a professional musician, touring as a singer-songwriter, playing in local bands, and booking/managing several regional festivals. Proficient in the Acoustic guitar styles of Bluegrass/Flatpicking/Folk/Rock/Country. Thor excels at one-on-one teaching with students from beginner to intermediate. Daniel Price - Drum set; Percussion Devin Roark – Trombone; Tuba Mr. Roark grew up in Pensacola, Florida, and later moved to Ohio to receive his Master's in Music from the Cincinnati Conservatory, followed by a teaching certificate at Cleveland State. He is currently the bass trombonist for the Firelands Symphony, and he also performed with the Lima, Northwest Florida, and Kentucky Symphonies. He has performed with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and True North Big Band, and directed the Cleveland State Pep Band for two years.

Melissa Sorohan - Voice Melissa has a BM in Voice from Cleveland Institute of Music. Studied with Clifford Billions and performed in the Cleveland Institute of Music Opera Theater. Studied with Karan Holvik and Constance Haas at the Eastman School of Music, and continues to study voice with Cynthia Wohlschalger. Currently a Section Leader at First Unitarian Church of Cleveland in Shaker Heights. She loves thrift shopping, sewing and her growing vinyl collection.

Andrew Stefaniak – Clarinet, Woodwinds; Beginning Piano BM and MA in performance from the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music where he studied with Carmine Campione and Jonathan Gunn. In addition to his experience on clarinet, Andrew is also a proficient pianist with over twenty years of experience and has studied as an honors secondary piano student at the University of Cincinnati. He is currently an active teacher and freelance clarinetist in Northeast Ohio, where he has performed several times with the Canton Symphony and serves as an alternate musician for both the Akron Symphony and Erie Philharmonic. Demetrius Steinmetz – Beginning Piano; Jazz and Popular Music Piano Demetrius Steinmetz is a Northeast Ohio-based musician that teaches and performs regularly throughout the area as a jazz bassist, pianist, and saxophonist. He earned his BM in jazz studies and master of music in double bass performance from Bowling Green State University. He is currently a member of the jazz studies faculty at Cuyahoga Community College, and has served as applied bass instructor and summer music cam teacher at Bowling Green. As a performing musician, he has worked with such artists as the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Red Light Roxy, Ernie Krivda, the Toledo Jazz Orchestra, Joe Hunter, Jump Jive and Wail, and many others. April Sun - Piano A native of Bozeman, Montana, pianist April Sun recently completed her Master's degree with Dr. Daniel Shapiro at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she will continue post-graduate studies in piano performance and pedagogy. Her primary mentors have included Henry Campbell, Susan Keith Gray, and Paul Barnes, and she has studied chamber music with members of the Chiara, Cavani, Cleveland, and Garth Newel quartets. A member of the Meadowlark Piano Trio, April has performed and taught in festivals and outreaches across the nation. She has received top prizes in numerous national competitions and has performed with the Bozeman, Great Falls, South Dakota, and UNL symphonic orchestras. April completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in music with minors in both English and Art History at the University of Nebraska--Lincoln, and was invited to perform in China as a cultural ambassador. An avid writer, she contributes to ClevelandClassical.com. Away from the piano, April enjoys hiking, board games, travel, and food with spirit(s).

Rosalima Valdez Pham - Piano MM in Piano Performance from Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University, BM in Piano Performance from Mount Union College. Taught at Mount Union College preparatory division, and served as a Collaborative Pianist. Performed as a Collaborative Pianist for recitals at various colleges and universities, as well as at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.

Vilma Vargo – Piano; Dalcroze Eurhythmics BM and Master of Education from Baldwin-Wallace College. Certified in Dalcroze Eurhythmics from Carnegie-Mellon University. Many of her former students have gone on to great recognition in the music world as performers and educators. Member of the Dalcroze Society of England and the United States, she has attended many conferences in the USA, England, and Switzerland. Vilma plays piano, harpsichord and pipe organ.

Dan Wenninger – Saxophone AA in Jazz Studies from Cuyahoga Community College and BA from the University of Toledo. Dan began playing saxophone in 1987. Dan teaches Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical and improvisation to students ranging from 8 years to adult. He performs with Revolution Brass Band, Trepanning Trio, Scarcity of Tanks and various jazz and blues groups around Northeast Ohio including NiteBridge, The Rhythm Syndicate, Becky Boyd and Lounge Kitty. He has recorded with the likes of the P.L.U.S Band, Mifune, and Cat’s on Holiday. His current project is the Oblique Orchestra, which has four albums out on the Infinite Sound

Label, is a free jazz ensemble that explores spontaneous improvisation. He also conducts the Freedom Jazz Collective which is a series of concerts that explores mass improvisation and features a cross-section of Cleveland’s avant-improv community.

Kimberly Zaleski – Flute; Piccolo Ms. Zaleski was a student of Renée Siebert of the New York Philharmonic from 2004 through 2007. In addition, she studied at the Juilliard School under the instruction of Dr. Bradley Garner before pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore where she was a recipient of both the 2010 Britton Johnson Memorial Prize and the Richard Franko Goldman Scholarship as a student of renowned soloist, Marina Piccinini. She is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music where she pursued her Master’s degree under the tutelage of the Principal flutist of the Cleveland Orchestra, Joshua Smith. She performs with Strawberry Sunday - an avant-garde, high energy flute and cello duo that specializes in an array of musical genres ranging from alternative pop to improvisatory jazz. In addition, she

has performed under the baton of Maestro Domenico Boyagian in Opera per Tutti’s production of Puccini’s La Rondine. She has played with the New World Symphony and has also been a member of the TrueNorth Chamber Orchestra. She is a regular sub with the Canton Symphony and has also coached the woodwind sectionals for the Canton Symphony Youth Orchestra. Ms. Zaleski holds the distinction of being the first piccoloist ever to be featured on the nationally broadcast radio show “From the Top.”

Jonathan S. Kronenberger – Associate Director of Theater Education

216.521.2540 x27 | [email protected] Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from Miami University and a Master of Fine Arts in Directing from Ohio University. He is an associate member of the Dramatists Guild. His experience includes serving as assistant to the director at Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York; as assistant to the producer with the Kenley Players, and has worked as assistant to the artistic director at Cleveland Play House. Jonathan has served as director both locally and in New York. Beck Center Youth Theater directing credits include: Bright Ideas, Chicago, The Children’s Hour, Avenue Q: School Edition, Our Town, Reckless, Charlotte’s Web, Cats, Into the Woods, Twelve Angry

Jurors, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and Cinderella. Sarah Clare – Early Childhood Theater Sarah has a Bachelor's degree in Dramatic Arts from Cleveland State University with an emphasis on performance and directing. She is currently working on her Master's Degree in Education and license to teach Language Arts. Sarah serves as the resident choreographer for Lake Catholic High School, and works on Rocky River Middle School's spring musical. She has worked throughout the Cleveland area as a performer, director, choreographer, and teacher. Sarah loves to bake, craft, spend time with her pets, and desires to be a pirate.

Matthew Dolan – Voice, Musical Theater Matthew has a MM in Choral Conducting and BM in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Akron. Currently is the Director of Music at Peace Lutheran Church in Canton. Over 10 years of experience working as Creative and Musical Director for many area theater productions. Current Musical Director for the Hudson Theater Camp. Matthew has also appeared as a clinician and accompanist for many area school choirs. An active composer and arranger his works have been performed across northeast Ohio. Cast member of Something Dada for 6 years.

Brittany Gaul – Early Childhood Theater Brittany holds a BA in Dramatic Arts from Cleveland State University and a certified yoga instructor. In addition to serving as a teacher at several arts organizations she leads an all-women’s yoga class for the Community Assessment Treatment Services Center. She has worked with pre-k through high school aged children and has thoroughly enjoyed opening the minds of young artists. Aside from teaching, Brittany is a house manager, stage manager and actor.

Natalie Green – Acting, Playwriting Natalie received her degree in Performing Arts from the Point Park University Conservatory of Performing Arts with previous studies in classical vocal performance, theater and education at Mount Union College and has served as head of theatre at the Florence Allison Summer Arts Camp. She has served on the faculty of Beck Center, Fairmount Performing Arts Conservatory, Hathaway Brown Theater Institute, Menlo Park Academy, Carnation City Players and Competitive Edge Fitness and Dance. Theater credits include Belle in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at Beck Center as well as working with Cleveland Play House, Cleveland Public Theater, Pittsburgh Repertory Company,

Ensemble Theater, Mamai Theater Company, TrueNorth Cultural Arts, Lakeland Theater, Cleveland JCC/Tri-C East, Lakeland Theatre, Fine Arts Association, and in the Cabaret Shows at Pickwick and Frolic. As a singer, Natalie was the Lead Vocalist with Collision Jazz, The Stylettes, Broadband, Grand Avenue Band, The Stilettos, and was a Semi-Finalist on American Idol, Season 3. Louise (Lou) Hadaway – Musical Theater Dance Lou originated from York, England, a Musical Theater graduate from London's Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She relocated to Cleveland in 2010 upon retirement from 20 years of performing, teaching, and hiring dancers for Carnival Cruise Lines. Lou currently teaches for the Dance (Jazz, Tap, Ballet), Theater (Musical Theatre Dance), and Outreach Department at the Beck Center. Lou also teaches Jazz for the Dance Department at Cleveland State University and is a Choreographer for the CSU Vikings Dance Team.

Dana Hart - Acting Mr. Hart has taught theatre at University of Alaska Fairbanks, Sheldon Jackson College, Case, Lake Ridge Academy and Laurel School. He has appeared at Beck Center in shows ranging from Annie (Daddy Warbucks) to David Mammet’s Oleanna including Romeo and Juliet, Bent, The History Boys, Jekyll and Hyde, By Jeeves, 33 Variations, My Fair Lady, and the Pitmen Painters. Off-Broadway credits include Holy Ghosts, Twelfth Night, The Mousetrap, and Molly Bloom. He has acted with Alaska Repertory Theatre, San Diego Rep, Milwaukee Rep, Seattle’s Evergreen Theater and Baltimore’s CenterStage. Cleveland area credits include roles with The Cleveland Play House, Great Lakes Theatre Fest, Ensemble Theatre, Actors’ Summit, Cleveland Public Theatre, Cesear’s Forum, Clague Playhouse, Dobama and directing for

Cleveland Shakespeare Fest. He was Best Actor in “Best of Cleveland 2012” by Scene Magazine for St. Nicholas by Connor McPhearson which is now available for touring. John Krol – Voice, Musical Theater John holds a MA in Composition from Cleveland Institute of Music and MA in Conducting from Southern Methodist University. Career includes full-time instrumental, choral and general music teacher; has freelanced in directing, music directing, choral conducting, teaching theater, and vocal coaching. Lives with his family in South Euclid.

Aaron Patterson - Improvisation Aaron was trained at the Second City Conservatory Program, which helped earn a spot as a cast member in Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding at PlayhouseSquare and Flanagan’s Wake simultaneously. Co-founded the “Other Theater Project” in 2004. Acting instructor at Hudson Theater Camp and various afterschool programs since 2002. Cast member of improvisation group, Something Dada for the past two years.

Rachel Spence - Acting, Playwriting In addition to being the Associate Director of Outreach Education at Beck Center, she also directs youth theater productions. Over 20 years of early childhood education experience. Former theater instructor with the Strongsville City Schools and director of the Children’s Theater with the Royalton Players. As a playwright has written over 2,000 speaking roles for Beck Center and area school productions. Also an award-winning actress with an extensive resume in television and theater. Rachel enjoys reading her Kindle, rocking out to obscure bands, and snuggling with her shih Tzu.

Russel Stich – Acting, Improvisation Russ is the Artistic Director and founding member of Something Dada Improvisational Comedy Co. Has over sixteen years of improvisational performance experience including playing the Best Man in Tony 'n Tina's Wedding. Directs for Olmsted Falls High School and served as Camp Director at Hudson Theater Camp for sixteen years.

Pam Wetula - Acting Pam holds a BA in Theater and Speech from Marian College; additional studies in theater and music at Indiana University, Indiana Central University and through the Artist In Residence Program at the Indianapolis Opera Company. Many years of experience performing on stage and taught classes for adults and children in many venues. As an International Referral Network Area Director, Pam teachers “How to Do a Twenty Minute Presentation” and other classes to IRN’s business professional members.

Darrelle Anne Centuori – Associate Director of Visual Arts Education

Darrelle has a BA from Kent State University in Studio Art and Art History and completed coursework in art therapy and education. She has been a member of the visual arts faculty at Beck for over 7 years, teaching a variety of courses. She has also been a team leader for Beck's annual Parade The Circle entries. As an artist, Darrelle works in a variety of mediums, including collage and painting, with a focus on photography. Her work is often seen in area juried art exhibitions and at local galleries.

Susan Ambro - Visual Arts Specialist Susan holds a BA in Art History from Ohio University and longtime pottery instructor at Beck Center and other community education programs in the Cleveland area.

Allison Bogard – Mixed Media Allison holds a BFA in Painting and Literary Studies from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, Maryland. Two years’ experience working in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District teaching various art forms in STEM programs to children grades K through 8, as well as teens and adults in the Cuyahoga County Library district. Allison's work is primarily mixed-media, ranging from traditional oil painting to sculptural installation art. She is heavily influenced by the land and cityscape, and is constantly experimenting with new mediums and forms of expression. Allison is currently showing artwork throughout the Cleveland area.

Bernie D’Ettorre - Watercolor Bernie’s greatest influences came from Diane Boldman, Cathy Welner, Bob Moyer as well as Tom Lynch and other Ohio Watercolor Society workshops. I have participated in one woman shows as well as juried events, winning Best of Show - Lakewood Art League - two consecutive years as well as other awards throughout the area. She is a signature member of the Ohio Watercolor Society and her work has been displayed at Grand River Gallery in Rocky River, Blue Moon Gallery in Chagrin Falls, Mosaic Gallery in Cleveland, and Local Girl Gallery in Lakewood, as well as corporate centers, and private collections throughout Ohio, California, and England.

Danielle Doré-Rook - Drawing Fundamentals, Figure Drawing for Teens, Youth Pottery/Beginner, Pottery Studio Manager Danielle holds a BFA in Ceramics from Cleveland Institute of Art, with additional focus in Drawing and Print. Co-manager of ceramics department at the Brecksville Center for the Arts. Freelances as a ceramic and portrait artist; exhibits and sells her work through local studios and galleries. A Lakewood resident most of her life, she has 24 years of experience working with children.

Peter Green – Life Drawing, Oil Painting Peter was born and raised in southern Ohio, but he has spent time living in various locations abroad. He studied both drawing and design at Cleveland State, and while there he received a merit scholarship for the quality of his work. He then went on to receive an MFA from San Francisco's prestigious Academy of Art. Since then he has continued his artistic training in various workshops and specialized classes, under the tutelage of master artists such as Rebecca Guay, Juliette Aristides, and most recently an 11-week intensive at Studio Escalier in France. Peter is a representational artist who focuses mostly on the figure, still life and landscape, working in oil paints and traditional drawing media. His work has been published in art annuals, won awards, and shown in galleries across the nation.

Katie McDermott- Pottery Katie McDermott is a Cleveland-based ceramicist and art educator. Over the past 4 years, she’s worked with underprivileged and homeless youth, and in non-profit education sectors in both Oregon and Ohio. She is currently pursuing a Graduate Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Cleveland State University.

Sam Reveley- Drawing Same is a reelance cartoonist and art educator who currently resides in Lakewood, Ohio. She graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2013 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sequential Art, a degree that emphasizes visual storytelling, creative writing, and comic illustration. Sam Reveley has been exhibited internationally as a sequential artist, co-created numerous independently-published comic books, and has served as a public art educator since 2010 for companies such as the Museum of Contemporary Art: Cleveland, the SCAD Museum of Art, and the Center for Art-Inspired Learning. Her aspiration is to start-up the first independent comic publishing house based in Cleveland, Ohio that focuses exclusively on producing digital comics. Some books she has helped co-create include “Steelfoot Fin and the Last Oil Well” published digitally online, “Seeds of Valor” published in print by the Transitions Comic Anthology, and “Calavera De La Justicia” published both in print and online by On Target Network LLC and ComiXology.

Regina Scicchitano - Fundamentals of Drawing, Intermediate/Advanced Drawing Regina has a BFA from Cleveland Institute of Art. Has been pursuing a freelance career since graduation, which includes many corporate and private clients. Taught evening art classes at Polaris Career Center in the Continuing Education Department from 1997 to 2010; with the Beck Center since 2004. She enjoys spending time in Marblehead and the Lake Erie Islands area with family and friends.

Patricia Sigmier – Watercolor, Drawing Patricia holds a BFA from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. Signature member of Ohio Watercolor Society. Instructs Watercolor Painting, Color Theory in Watercolor, Botanical Painting, and Portrait Painting in Watercolor. Also teaches Plein air painting for the Case Western Reserve University’s Continuing Education Department. Enjoys teaching art classes for local private groups and has exhibited in numerous juried shows.

Alastair Stockdale – Cartooning Alastair has a BA in Arts Education from Cleveland State University and a graduate with Summa Cum Laude honors. He recently received his teaching license and has done he has done collaborative work with the Cleveland Artists Foundation, Cleveland Museum of Art, and Beck Center along with various school districts such as Fairview, Berea, Parma, and the Cleveland Municipal School District. Here at Beck Center has worked in the areas of visual arts education, outreach education, and creative art therapies. His artwork continues to be exhibited and was last seen in the most recent faculty art show. Al has been moving chairs and unlocking doors at the Beck Center since 2005 while working behind the scenes at virtually every major event.

Julia Van Wagenen Julia is a freelance photographer and educator from Cleveland. She attended Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication where she majored in Photojournalism. During the school year, Julia works at Urban Community School’s after school program where she facilitates a host of visual arts projects. Last year, Julia created and implemented a summer journalism program for inner city teens. She has also taught photography as a form of mental health recovery with the Athens Photographic Project in southern Ohio. Julia took classes at the Beck Center as a child and is excited to be back as an instructor for the visual arts camp!

Angel Foss, MT-BC – Associate Director of Creative Arts Therapies, Music Therapist 216.521.2540 x34 | [email protected] Angel holds a BM in Music and Business with an emphasis in Percussion from Heidelberg University and completed coursework to become a Board-Certified Music Therapist at Baldwin Wallace University. Specializes in music with adults with special needs, and enjoys working with individuals and groups of all ages and abilities. She has 20-years of experience as a freelance musician playing various instruments as well as songwriting and recording. Guitar, piano, and drum instructor, both group and individual sessions, for the past 15 years. Established music therapy programs in several Lorain, Erie, and Huron County facilities and co-founded the Rock Band Clinic,

a fundraiser for the Firelands Symphony.

Edward P. Gallagher, MT-BC - Music Therapist, Director of Education Ed has a BM in Music Therapy from Cleveland Music Therapy Consortium and Cleveland State University. Founded Beck’s Creative Arts Therapies program in 1994. He leads sessions for young children as a music therapist with Toddler Rock at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is a member of several local committees that serve individuals with special needs.

Lori Fry – Music Therapist Lori has a BM in Music Therapy from Slippery Rock University. Upon completion of her studies in 2014, she completed a six-month internship at The Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. During her internship she worked in all parts of the hospital with populations ranging from infants to the elderly. After completing internship, Lori worked as a full time music therapist in Harrisburg PA serving children and adults with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. She began working at the Beck Center in March 2016. Other interests include playing her oboe, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Jennifer Lesiw – Art Therapist Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ursuline College with a concentration in drawing and printmaking. Master of Arts in Art Therapy from Ursuline Art Therapy Master program. Jennifer is a registered and board certified art therapist. She has experience bringing creative art therapy to adults and children both individually and in groups. Specializing in adults with special needs, mental health, elderly and dementia clients. Jennifer has been an internship supervisor for graduate art therapy students since 1999.

Sarah Link - Music Specialist Sarah has a BM in Music Therapy from the University of Dayton. Practiced music therapy at Riverside Academy of Music for four years and The Far Conservatory in Birmingham, MI for three years. Early childhood music instructor at the Beck Center since 2005. Enjoys spending time with her two daughters and husband.

Kaitlin McKinley, MT-BC – Music Therapist Kaitlin graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Music from Bowling Green State University. She then went on to complete her Music Therapy Equivalency with Western Michigan University, where she is currently enrolled in the Master's program for Music Therapy. Kaitlin also completed her six-month clinical internship with TrustBridge Health in West Palm Beach, Florida working with various diagnoses and ages of patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Kaitlin currently serves off site populations including early childhood, high school, and geriatric groups, as well as providing individual on-site music therapy sessions for clients with a variety of diagnoses at the Beck Center.

Samantha Snell - Music Specialist Samantha Snell graduated from Western Michigan University in 2014 with a BA in Dance and a minor in General Business. Sam began dancing at a young age at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts in Monroe, MI. Also in Monroe, she was a leader for the Creative Arts Movement Group that worked with students with disabilities. Samantha has danced soloist roles in, “Fandango” by Antony Tudor - staged by American Ballet Theatre’s Amanda Mckerrow and John Gardner. She was a guest artist in many versions of The Nutcracker dancing as The Sugarplum Fairy. She also has worked with Willy Shives from The Joffery Ballet and performed in Gerald Arpino’s, “Viva Vivaldi.” In the fall of Samantha’s senior year at Western Michigan, her adjudicated choreography piece,

“Gimme Five,” was featured in the 2013 Orchesis Dance Concert. She began her teaching career at Kathy’s Dance Company in Grandville, MI and currently continues to teach multiple genres at Jordan Center Dance in Warrensville Heights, OH. Samantha also choreographs for the Jackson Northwest High School Vocal Dimensions.

Lauren Travillian, MT-BC – Music Therapist Lauren is excited to kick off her Music Therapy career at the Beck Center! She recently completed a music therapy internship at UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital where she worked with hospitalized children, adolescents, and their families to help provide relaxation and self-expression. Lauren graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Music Therapy and Psychology where she worked with children of all ages with special needs, women diagnosed with substance abuse disorder, and older adults on a memory support unit. Lauren first fell in love with the therapeutic power of music while growing up in Dayton, OH, and hopes to share that power with others in Cleveland.

Anthony Steward – Music Therapy Intern Anthony completed his academic coursework at Baldwin Wallace University in 2016 where he studied music therapy with a focus on voice and a minor in psychology. He will receive his BM in Music Therapy when he completes his internship. When not working at Beck, Anthony enjoys singing in multiple choirs and maintains an active performance schedule.
