Desi din punct de vedere medical nu reprezinta o amenintare, din cauza aspectului inestetic, ele provoaca un anumit disconfort psihic. Femeile gravide si adolescentii sunt cei mai predispusi la aparitia acestor striuri. In momentul de fata, nu se cunoaste nici un tratament cu efect garantat in vindecarea sau prevenirea vergeturilor, exista insa numeroase solutii care reduc vizibilitatea lor.

De ce apar?

Vergeturile sunt afectiuni ale pielii si se prezinta sub forma unor cicatrici. Corpul uman este protejat de trei tesuturi principale de piele: epiderma (stratul exterior), tesutul dermal (stratul de mijloc) si tesutul subcutanat (stratul cel mai adAnc). Aceste dungi (striuri) se produc in stratul de mijloc (tesutul dermal) prin intinderea excesiva a pielii, pierderi sau acumulari bruste de greutate. Unii specialisti explica aparitia vergeturilor roz - violacee prin dilatarea vaselor mici de sAnge (numite capilare), cauzata de distrugerea colagenului.

Refacerea tesutului conjuctiv poate duce la depigmentare, printr-o productie scazuta de melanina si celule melanocite. Astfel, apar vergeturile mature de culoare alba-sidefie. Unele cercetari demonstreaza insa, ca nu intinderile pielii sunt cauza, ci o hipersecretie a glandelor corticosuprarenale. Acestea produc hormoni glucocorticoizi (cortizon si cortizol), al caror nivel creste cu precadere in perioada de sarcina, la pubertate, in timpul unui efort crescut (ridicarea de greutati), in cazul administrarii de stereoizi (la barbati), alimentatie necorespunzatoare, hipoglicemie, stres.

Glucorticoizii impiedica formarea elastinei si colagenului, raspunzatori pentru fermitatea pielii. Tesutul este sensibilizat si o data ce pielea a suferit o intindere, pot aparea rupturi in stratul dermal. Epiderma este si ea afectata si rezultatele nedorite devin din ce in ce mai vizibile.

Asadar, se cunosc doua tipuri de striuri: cele rosiatice, care apar primele si au sanse sa dispara, si cele mature, de culoare alba, care sunt permanente.

Adolescentii, victime sigure

Majoritatea adolescentilor sunt afectati de aparitia vergeturilor. In aceasta perioada, au loc schimbari majore in organism, iar pierderile bruste in greutate sunt una dintre cauzele care ii vizeaza. Striurile se dezvolta atAt la fete, cAt si la baieti. Intre 75 si 90 % dintre femei le capata in perioada sarcinii. Intinderea continua a pielii de pe abdomen dezvolta ruperea epidermei si formarea vergeturilor pe parcursul primelor 6 - 7 luni.

Cei care sufera de obezitate sunt tinta principala. Halterofilii si cei care depun un efort fizic sustinut sunt si ei predispusi, avAnd in vedere schimbarile rapide ale masei musculare. Vergeturile sunt si efectul utilizarii unor creme si alifii pe baza de stereoizi timp de mai multe saptamAni ( ex. hidrocortizonul) si administrarii indelungate de corticostereoizi.

Metode de prevenire

Cum formarea lor nu poate fi prevenita, exista totusi cAteva sfaturi de care ar trebui sa tinem cont. Trebuie evitata expunerea indelungata la soare, pentru ca radiatiile solare slabesc fibrele de colagen. Se impune si urmarea unei diete bogata in proteine – esentiale pentru fermitatea si refacerea pielii.

Vitamina C si zincul au, de asemenea, un rol urias in acest sens. Aplicarea unor creme cu retinol - A (vitamina A) le-ar putea estompa vizibilitatea, insa e nevoie de multa constiinciozitate in aplicarea regulata a cremei, atAt seara, cAt si dimineata, zi de zi. Metoda va da rezultate cAt de cAt satisfacatoare in aproximativ sase luni, merita insa efortul de a incerca.

Sfaturi pentru ca vergeturile sa devina cat mai...invizibile

In timpul dusului, folositi o lufa sau un burete pentru a stimula circulatia sAngelui.

Masati zonele afectate cu unt de cacao.

Folositi dupa dus ulei de corp cu vitamina E.

Consultati un medic dermatolog in privinta utilizarii unor creme pe baza de tretinoina ( acid all - trans retinoic). Acesta va va prescrie cu exactitate produsul de care aveti nevoie.

Consumati alimente bogate in vitaminele A, E si C.

Pentru piele, mai sunt recomandate zincul si siliciul ( se regasesc in sfecla, orez brun, soia, legume cu frunze verzi si cereale integrale), care ajuta la formarea colagenului si sustinerea fibrelor.

Asigurati – va ca alimentatia cuprinde si alimente bogate in acizi grasi esentiali. Acestia refac tesutul celular si se gasesc in legume, uleiuri vegetale si peste.
