First of all... what’s the beat generation?
A group of American post-World War II writers.
Rejected the received standards.
Innovated style, experimented drugs and alternate sexuality.
Rejected materialism and portrayed the human condition in an explicit way.
Prominent in the 1950s.

So, who are the Beatniks?They belonged to the beat generation.
A juvenile stereotype, especially distinguished by their way of dressing.
Stressed artistic self-expression and the rejection of the mores of conventional society.

CharacteristicsTheir fashion was related to an attitude inclined to laziness, sex without boundaries, violence, vandalism and delinquent gangs.
Also had a different kind of language or different urban vocabulary, like calling each other “daddy-o”.

What does it consist of?
Our event is a party/reunion for all the beatniks that are still among us nowadays.
It will be a major artistic/cultural event with activities that they liked to do.
A 1950s art exhibition, live jazz music, bongos available and of course, for the ones interested, a beatnik-styled poetry contest.
