  • Designed to help teachers, campuses and districts determine
  • their progress toward meeting the goals of the Long-Range
  • Plan for Technology.
  • Helps meet the goals of the district.
  • Enables teachers to see what Texas expectations for
  • Technology and Instruction.
  • Self-Assess personal progress toward meeting expectations.
  • Helps teachers plan own professional development
  • Plan integration of technology into their curricular area.

4. Texas STaR Chart Purposes

  • Meets Requirements for technology implementation as specified in No Child Left Behind, Title II, Part D and Texas requirements
  • NCLB:* All student technology by end of 8 thgrade
  • * All teachers must be technology literate
  • * Technology fully integrated by Dec. 31,2005
  • Texas:* TEKS for secondary courses all have technology expectations
  • *K-8 technology TEKS must be taught
