Let’s celebrate 100 years of Lithuanian Independence together!

In addition to being one of Europe’s most tech-savvy and innovative cities and ideal place for meetings and

inspiring events, Vilnius charms with its labyrinthine Old Town, sleek business district, elegant centre, historic

suburbs, and exceptional architecture. While it’s always a captivating city with an abundance of pleasant

surprises, 2018 is of particular importance for Vilnius and Lithuania, as it marks the 100th anniversary since the

signing of the country’s Act of Independence. Though celebrations will be taking place to honour this historic

moment throughout the year, the exact anniversary is 16 February, right after CONVENE. As such, you can expect

the city to be bustling with festivities and filled with people joining in the celebrations.

FAM Tour Programme Concept: To discover Vilnius in an active way having a culinary experience

Programme Highlights: Clay Pigeon Shooting, Restaurant Hunt Dress code: casual/smart casual. Please wear comfortable shoes and a warm jacket since the weather may be cold and windy and might dip below freezing. Walking will be combined with site inspections.

Friday 16 February

08:30 Departure from the host hotel

09:00 – 11:30 “City Labyrinth” – an interactive city game, involving hotel site inspections. The idea of the game is to visit a few hotels in the Vilnius Old Town while learning interesting facts about Vilnius/Lithuania and having a lot of fun!

Visits to the hotels: IMPERIAL Hotel & Restaurant, Artis Centrum Hotels.

12:00 -13:30 Site inspection of the Holiday Inn Vilnius. Lunch at the hotel’s restaurant – Rib Room.

14:00 – 16:00 Clay Pigeon Shooting Experience

In Vilnius you can go clay pigeon shooting just a stone’s throw away from the heart of the city. 16:30 – 18:00 Return to the host hotel. Free time 18:20 Visit to the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania 19:00 – 22:00 Dinner – restaurant hunt. Restaurants: Sweet Root - Dublis - Leičių Bravoras

Saturday 17 February

Breakfast at the host hotel. Check-out according to individual flights times.

08:50 Departure to Trakai

Trakai is a cosy and beautiful medieval town just 25 km from Vilnius. Formerly the capital of Lithuania, - Trakai is famous for its insular Castle on the lake Galve dating back to the 14th century. A presentation of events possibilities in Trakai will follow a brief tour of the castle.

10:30 Medieval knight’s performance and medieval games 11:20 Lunch at the traditional Karaims cusine restaurant KYBYNLAR

This restaurant is known as one of Trakai’s best spots for a food stop. You will enjoy the authentic Karaite eatery’s cosy and colourful Eastern-Style interior and try Cornish pasty-style kibinai - pastries filled with meat, curd or mushrooms. To visit Trakai and not eat kibinai - is like going to Japan and skipping the noodles.
