“ Be thankful for the taxes you Pay ,it indicates your affluence”
Continuing with British Council activities and embedding
internationalism into school curriculum, a Webinar about
TAXATION SYSTEM IN DEVELOPED AND
DEVELOPING COUNTRIES was organised for senior
secondary students of Commerce stream. IT Commissioner,
Ludhiana, Mr. Binay Kumar Jha spoke about high tax rate
in India. He also motivated all to pay taxes willingly as this
money is used in for helping soldiers and developing the
nation.CA Sangam Garg gave information related to the tax
system in India,USA, Singapore and other neighbouring
countries. Further, CA Pushkal Soni answered queries of
the audience. it was a highly beneficial, illuminating and
informative webinar for students, the future citizens of the
country. Students not only gained knowledge about taxation
system in different countries they also learnt collaboration
fluency. It surely will help them to think as global citizens.

Expert Lecture on COVID 19“It might be stormy today but Rain
does not lasts forever”
British Council of BCM School, Chandigarh Road, also
organized a virtual “Expert Lecture”on COVID-19 for the
students of XII. Mr. Sanchit Seth, Research Associate at
Translational Research Institute, Australia, was the
Resource Person. Mr. Seth shared valuable information
about the symptoms of the disease. He talked about the
genomic of the virus and showed images for the better
understanding of the virus, its spread and infection. He
further advised the measures to improve and adapt safety
practices so the pandemic is covered professionally and in
a way that minimizes risk. He answered the queries of the
students. He shared accurate information and science based
facts about COVID-19 to diminish student’s fears and
anxieties about the virus. Students also discussed
preventive measures taken by governments in Australia and in India.

THEME : FOREIGN RELATIONS
We move together and so we grow together
Diplomacy is a powerful and peaceful tool that can bind the world together .With the purpose to prepare our students to learn about foreign relation British Council of BCM School, Chandigarh Road organised a virtual Expert Lecture on the Constitution of India and Kenya for the students of Class IX. The expert talk was delivered by Mrs Savita Dhawan and Mrs Mamta Gupta. Students were given ample information and facts related to the political system and different features of the constitution of India and Kenya . The lecture gave the students a great insight into the political conditions of both the countries .There was a question answer session in the end. BCMites got a close insight into the global affairs. This session not only instilled the feeling of brotherhood among BCMites but it will also help them to grow as global citizens. MUN Session 2020 was also organised for the students from class 9th to 12th . The students were placed as Directors, Moderators, Secretariats, Delegates, Press Corps & Logistics Team.They learnt about diplomacy, international relations, the working of United Nations & how to wrestle with the crisis & reach the solutions. They learntabout researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
