Access Career Cruising and Course Planner

Go to www.guhsd.net Select the students tab and click on the

link. Login with your username and password

Username: CC-Your ID # Password: computer login

You will go to your Portfolio Homepage

Click on from the list on the left hand side of the screen.

You will be focusing on the upcoming school year in the dashed box. In this example it is Year

10 Year 9 includes courses,

grades and credits completed as well as courses in progress.

On the far right, you will see a credit summary.

Below that are recommended CLUSTERS or PATHWAYS based on your Career Matchmaker results.

Required Courses (Yellow Slot)

All courses available to fulfill the requirement are in yellow.

Hover over any course to review the description & prerequisites.

Click the plus ‘+’ icon next to the course you want to select.

Click on the Course Planner tab & begin selecting courses.

To add a required course, click the plus ‘+’ icon that appears on the right of any yellow slot.

You will return to the Course Planner tab.

The course you selected and all co-requisites will appear.

Elective Courses (White Slot)

To add an elective course, click the plus ‘+’ icon that appears on the right of any white slot.

Be sure the View By: is set to Discipline to start

Use the drop down menu to explore Discipline types

If you are a 9th grader, consider joining a CTE or Science Pathway that matches your interests.

Elective Course Selection Hover over any course to

review the description & prerequisites and note the Grade restrictions.

Click the plus ‘+’ icon next to the course you want to select.

You will return to the Course Planner tab.

The course you selected & all co-requisites will appear.

If you selected a pathway, you should add the corresponding courses to Year 11 and Year 12.

The BLUE and RED Symbols

The Blue symbol means there is a WARNING that you must read.

Hover over the blue dot & the note will appear.

Example: “You have selected a course that you have previously completed. This course will not count as additional credit.”

The Red symbol means there is an ALERT that you must read.

Hover over the red dot & the note will appear.

Example: “You do not have the proper pre-requisite, please select the proper pre-requisite or speak to your counselor.”

Alternate for Electives

For each elective you have selected, you must select an alternate.

To select your alternates, click the ‘+’ icon on the Alternate slot.

Select an alternate course for each elective selection by clicking the ‘+’ icon on the alternative slot.

You will have to select the co-requisite to match in the second alternate slot.

Alternates and Red Alerts A Red Alert symbol will

appear. Hover over the symbol for

instructions. Example: “This course has a co-requisite requirement of G274 Spanish 4C. Please add course or see your counselor.”

If you add the required course as the next alternate, the Red Alert will disappear.

If you do not have the required pre-requisite, add the course or select another alternate course.

Click the SAVE button at the bottom of the page.

Diploma & Certifications Tab The Diploma & Certifications Tab allows you to review

graduation requirements. On the right you can see the credits you have earned,

have planned in course planner, as well as those you have remaining to add into course planner.

The Quick Summary bar allows you to see your progress. If your course planner is complete for all 4 years, you should only see green and yellow.

A-G and NCAA Requirements Using the pull down menu, you can also review your

progress in the A-G Requirements as well NCAA Requirements.

Review, Print & Share Please review your selections

with your parent/guardian before your class returns to the guidance office.

Review all Red Alerts and Blue Warnings.

You can print a draft by clicking the print icon at the top right of the course planner.

Feel free to continue to plan future years. Don’t worry, all other years are for planning only. Only the dashed year matters right now.

Final Review & SUBMIT

Be sure to review ALL required and elective course offerings and YOUR SELECTIONS.

You can select and remove courses as often as you want UNTIL you click the SUBMIT button.

Once you meet with your counselor, your courses will be locked in and will not be changed.
