This is a tool that stakeholders, including customers and the public can use to report any unethical conduct at the Corporaon. Launching the line, BDC Managing Director, Mr Bashi Gaetsaloe, explained that whistle blowing will promote good corporate governance and ethical business conduct in line with the Corporaon’s values. “Tip-Offs Anonymous supports an ethical workplace culture and empowers staff, customers and the public to report unethical behaviours and pracces in a safe and confidenal manner – free from the threat of vicmisaons and retribuon.” he said. The MD connued, “BDC’s Tip-Offs Anonymous service is available for stakeholders to use and report any cases of fraud, corrupon, theſt, abuse of property, harassment and any other workplace relate crimes. Too oſten, these crimes are undetected and go unreported, resulng in financial losses to organizaons and eventually to the detriment of the tax payer. Tip- Offs Anonymous line is put in place as a deterrent to fraud and promotes a culture of zero tolerance towards these crimes.” BDC’s Tip- Offs Anonymous line is managed by Deloie Consulng – an independent third party. Brain Was from Deloie Consulng reported during his presentaon at the launch that the highest detecon method of fraud, theſt and corrupon is through p-offs and it is in this regard that BDC has implemented this important tool to combat fraud. The Tip-Offs Anonymous line complements BDC’s exisng Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies. The Botswana Development Corporation Limited (BDC) is a public limited company which is 100% owned by Botswana Government. BDC provides fi nancial assistance to commercially viable projects through equity participation, loan fi nancing, invoice discounting and property with sectoral emphasis on Industry, Property Development and Management, Agribusiness and Services, Invoice Discounting and Marketing and Research. BDC has a number of investments in subsidiaries, associates, as well as affi liates throughout these sectors. The Corporation is in the process of upgrading its database of property maintenance service suppliers. The Corporation wishes to invite 100% citizen companies providing property maintenance and other related services as detailed below to register with it. The services will be performed in Gaborone, Lobatse, Francistown & Selebi Phikwe. Companies who are already registered with BDC are not required to apply.
