Aim: How Biscuit Organisations and the Media can Work Together to Promote the Reputation of the UK’s Biscuit and Snacking Sector.

More specifically: What can we (The British Biscuit Advisory Board (BBAB)) do in response to recent media activities concerning biscuit safety to highlight our own campaigning – and can we give people the information they need in a fun and engaging, yet proper and official, fashion?

The media: Here are some examples of some of the recent reports in the media (press/online/TV) concerning biscuit safety.

What we can learn from these examples:• Some people clearly enjoy biscuits• The public are now also scared of biscuits • UK seems to have little/no biscuit education• Problem biscuits are not being taken seriously• Incidents could harm the biscuit and snacking sector• Danger is a bigger problem than the public think
