Our Mission

Bay View Homecare, Inc. has been serving the medical homecare needs of residents in the Maryland, D.C., Virginia, Delaware, and surrounding areas with quality healthcare products and services since 1988. This private, for profit, Maryland Corporation has over 75 years of healthcare experience among management and staff.

Management and staff’s goal is to provide the highest quality home healthcare equipment, supplies, and services to all our patients. Patient’s rights, responsibilities, dignity, and confidentiality are the highest priority in service delivery and follow-up. We routinely update our staff regarding home healthcare technology and service delivery through attendance at national and regional seminars, participation in factory training programs, in-house education, and other appropriate methods.

The quality of service is routinely monitored by our internal Performance Improvement Coordinator. Patients always retain the right to clearly voice their opinion of the services rendered without fear of reprisal.

Medicare Guidelines for Oxygen

0 to 4 liters/minute: SaO2 </= 88% or PO2 </=56 mmHg on room air

>4 liters/minute: SaO2 </= 88% on 4 liters/minute

Medicare Guidelines for CPAP PSG shows an AHI/RDI of 15 or greater PSG shows an AHI/RDI of 5-14 with additional supporting

diagnoses (i.e. hypertension, excessive daytime fatigue, etc.) BIPAP is covered for OSA when patient fails CPAP trial

Medicare Guidelines for BIPAP (Respiratory Assist Device for COPD*)

Nocturnal pulse oximetry shows 5+ continuous minutes of desaturation on 2 or more liters of oxygen AND

An elevated PCO2 greater than or equal to 45 while awake and breathing prescribed FiO2

*For all other diagnoses, refer to the complete Medicare policy, or call our Respiratory Department for assistance
