Team Rules and Guidelines1. All student athletes are required to attend an
orientation class prior to joining the football team for 2017.
2. All student athletes who are joining the team for 2017 are required to submit a Team Rules and Guidelines form with a signature from their parents.
3. All student athletes require medical clearance before participating in any physical contact.
4. All student athletes are required to maintain a 2.0 grade point average throughout each football season.
Team Rules and Guidelines5. All student athletes will illustrate the team’s core values on and off the field through their own behavior.6. All student athletes are required to treat each other and every coach with respect at all times.7. All student athletes are required to attend practice at 3:15pm each day unless otherwise directed.8. All student athletes are required to submit documentation or any form of proof to validate every absence during practice.
Team Rules and Guidelines9. All student athletes are required to attend study hall on all designated days.10. All student athletes are required to attend every scheduled team meeting. 11. All student athletes are required to be open and receptive to all coaching and corrective action.12. All student athletes are prohibited from using inappropriate language during practice.13. All student athletes are required to maintain and care for their football equipment at all times.
Team Rules and Guidelines14. All student athletes are prohibited from having any affiliation with any street gang.15. All student athletes are prohibited from drinking alcohol, using any form of drugs including the use of performing enhancing drugs. 16. All student athletes will consider their team first before doing anything that contradicts any rule or guideline.
Team Rules and Guidelines17. All student athletes who break a team rule or guideline in any form or fashion will be required to stay after practice and complete additional exercises. 18. Under no circumstance, is foul play or horseplay allowed. 19. Depending on the severity of the situation, all student athletes who break a team rule or guideline may be dismissed from the team.

This defense effectively contains the outside and allows the linebackers to roam freely to make tackles. This defense also covers the spread effectively.

My Pledge
As a member of the Bassett High School Football team, I will be committed to the team in every way possible. I will practice and perform to the best of my ability. I will treat the members of this team as family. I will honor the core values and principles of this team. I will place the interests of the team first before my own. In the interest of the team, I will conduct myself in a manner that represents the team, my school, and my community with honor and integrity. If my conduct is below standard, I will accept responsibility for my actions and accept the consequences.
