3 IMPORTANT FACTORS
![Page 19: Basics of Photography](https://reader035.vdocuments.site/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58f03e9f1a28abfd158b4599/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
3 IMPORTANT FACTORS1.APERTURE
controls the amount of light before it reaches the shutter
also tackles the depth of field measured to f-stops (e.g f/8) high aperture = low number = open (e.g. f/4)
low aperture = high number = narrow (e.g. f/32)
![Page 20: Basics of Photography](https://reader035.vdocuments.site/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58f03e9f1a28abfd158b4599/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)

3 IMPORTANT FACTORS
2.SHUTTER SPEED controls how long the duration of light before it reaches the sensor
slower shutter speed (e.g. 30”) = motion blurring effect
faster shutter speed (e.g. 1/1600) = captures sharp image
![Page 24: Basics of Photography](https://reader035.vdocuments.site/reader035/viewer/2022062523/58f03e9f1a28abfd158b4599/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)

3 IMPORTANT FACTORS3. ISO SENSITIVITY
International Standards Organization the sensitivity of the camera’s sensor to light
high ISO speed (e.g. ISO 3200) = bright but grainy image
low ISO speed (e.g. ISO 100) = regular but sharp image
