• Creating in PowerPoint is a nice switch from writing essays. But remember, it’s not an essay. It’s just too hard to read all that information while it’s up on a screen. If your instructor wanted you to write an essay, I suppose he would have assigned one. Instead, should show your audience talking points through key words, phrases and even images to convey your message. Because think about it, who wants to listen to someone read you a screen?

• Consider Audience•How will this look to them?

• Leave Color Scheme alone!• Maintain unity--keep slides alike!

• NOT COPY & PASTE IMAGES• To find images, use Safari to browse • Go to Google>Images (click the tab)

• Use Advanced Image Search to narrow results

•Click FULL-SIZE image>Drag to desktop

• Move picture into the “Project Folder” by opening a new “Finder” window

Remember:

highlight the pix URL >Copy>Paste on final slide/reference page

Save As Package

• PowerPoint MUST be saved as a “PowerPoint Package” when dropped to teacher.

• To do so…• File>Save As>

• To Desktop

• Name file First name last name and hour

• E.g. KelleeHill4A

• Format>PowerPoint Package

• Save

Drop to Teacher

• Log on to Drop Server>Drop Boxes>Okay• Select/open Teacher’s name --first initial, last name• Click-Hold-Drag PowerPoint package FILE from desktop into hand-in

folder.• Note: you cannot open teacher’s hand in folder• You get a message that tells you cannot see what’s inside the folder; select “OK”
