AT We use AT when we talk about an exact time:

Our English class ends at 3 oclock. At half past ten, we will start our journey.

My sister finishes work at 4:30.

We say: at night, at the end / beginning of, at the moment, at noon, at midnight. Well meet you at the end of the show.

At the moment, John is taking a test.

My family and I always have lunch at noon.

ON We use ON when we talk about days of the week or exact dates:

We usually go to the beach on Sunday.

On Christmas Eve, we always go to church.

My birthday is on December 2nd

We also say: on Saturday night, on the weekend, on weekends.

On weekends, we usually cook a hot breakfast.

Ill give you a call on Monday morning. On Sunday evenings, we stay home and watch TV.

IN We use IN when something happens during a month, a year, or a century.

It sometimes rains in July.

My brother was born in 1998.

These dresses were in fashion in the 1900s.

We also say: in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening.

In the morning, I go to the gym three times a week.

George sometimes takes a nap in the afternoon.

In the evenings, I never drink coffee.

To express future we say: in a few minutes, in four days, in a week, in two years, etc.

Now, its 2:15. The bus leaves in ten minutes, so it leaves at 2:25. In a few days, Ill give you a final answer. She might graduate in a year.

In the case of seasons, we mention the season with or without the article the.

BEFORE We use BEFORE to refer to a moment prior to another time or event.

AFTER We use AFTER to refer to a moment later than another time or event.

We were really tired after the picnic.

After the ceremony, they all went to a restaurant.

I always take a walk after dinner.

BY We use BY to refer to a moment no later than another time.

We have to be back by midnight.

By summer, she was very thin.

The report has to be ready by 5 oclock.

AROUND We use AROUND to refer to a moment near another time.

Hell be here around noon. Around 10:30, I always take a coffee break.

We will call you around 9:00.
