Bulldogs In TheNCAA Division II Record

Book

Bulldog Bruce Berenyi is tied for theNCAA Division II record for most strike-outs in a game. On April 26, 1976,Berenyi struck out 21 batters in a one-hit,shutout win over Missouri-Rolla (5-0).

Berenyi’s record also helped Truman enterthe team single-game strikeout leaders list. The 21 strikeouts by the Bulldogs in thatgame is tied for second all-time. Only 13teams in NCAA Division II have recorded20 more strikeouts in a game.

A pair of Bulldogs are tied for seventh formost RBIs in a game with 10. Rick Reshaccomplished his back on April 29, 1982against Culver-Stockton. Greg Ewing battedin ten runners on April 16, 1988. Only 21players in Division II have had double-digitRBI games.

Greg Lenich put his name on two fieldingleader lists on March 8, 1999 againstCharleston. The first baseman made 20putouts in the 10-inning game which istied for ninth in the NCAA records book.Lenich also had an assist which gave his21 total chances, a mark that is tied foreighth.
