Building Communities
Who listened to the Radio?
Did you hear our principal Anne Hume on Bay FM yesterday talking about the Geelong Connected Communites grant we received to
help put in our inground trampolines?
BVS AP elected PASS Committee member
Congratulations to Julie Brown, our Assistant Principal, who was recently elected to
the committee of Principals Association of Specialist Schools (PASS). This is a fantastic recognition of Julie’s leadership and a great opportunity for our
school to contribute to special education at a state level.
The aims of PASS include: •To promote the principles of special education and improved community awareness of the capacity for special education throughout the State of Victoria.
•To act as a representative body of principals of specialist schools in the state of Victoria.
•To promote the consideration and discussion of all questions affecting special education

Qkr! is here at Barwon Valley School
The new Qkr! app is here for families of students at Barwon Valley School to order
and pay for canteen and payment of school fees. Qkr! by MasterCard can be downloaded for free from Apple’s app store for iPhones
(iPads should download the iPhone app) or from Google Play for Android phones and tablets.
If you have any queries regarding Qkr, please don’t hesitate to contact Noeline Burney, Business and Finance Leader on 5243 1813.
TIP:
Should I log out from the Qkr! app for security?
Qkr! is provided by Mastercard and is the safe, secure, reliable way to pay for school
items. Registration details and card information are not stored on your phone but are saved
securely on the Mastercard network.
As a security feature Qkr! Automatically logs you out after 10minutes of inactivity. You will still be able to browse the menus and add items to your cart, but you will be prompted to enter your password to submit payments.
If you wish to actively sign out after each session you may do so, however you wont
be able to browse the menus again without logging in. An alternative is to change your settings so that you are prompted to enter your
password at the “Submit Payment” step even if you are within the same 10minute logged in session. This saves you logging out after each session and logging in the
next time. To turn on the “Always prompt for password on checkout” option
