Celebration / Shows / Rides/ Events

01.08.2012

Rakshabandhan was celebrated by all KG

students. Children came to school in

colourful dress. A drama was performed

by the teachers showing brother-sisters

love. Teachers tied rakhi on children

waist and put tilak on their forehead.

Janmashtami Celebration – Teachers

performed a drama depicting Lord

Krishna‟s birth. All the childr en sung a

song “Nand gher anand bhayo… jai kanhaiya

lal ki…” Teachers and children enthusiastically

participated in dahi-handi.

15.08.2012

Independence Day was celebrated. Shri V.K. Verma

from ONGC was the chief guest and hosted the

tricolour flag.

17.08.2012

UKG students were dressed up as National leader and

britishers. A drama was performed a nd acted how we got

independence. National Leaders photographs were

displayed by LKG teachers.

21.08.2012

Idd celebration – Idd was celebrated by the

teachers to show w hy idd is celebrated. The story

of „Grandma & Hamid‟ was enacted by teachers.

Students greeted “Idd Mubarak” to their friends.

Germination process – UKG students were demonstrated

how the seeds grow into plant. Student s did germination

activity at homw and brought it to the school. They

shared their experience with the friends & teacher.

were displayed for the project „Monsoon‟.

Collage competition – Competition was held for UKG

& LKG students. They came out with wonderful collage

work done on the picture of flower vase & umbrella.

LKG teachers showed the concept of Floating and

sinking by giving hands on experience to the

students to put the things like leaf, stone, small plastic

toy, steel spoon, talk in the tub full of water. Students

were able to differentiate between things that sink and float.

Meetings, Workshop & Field Trips

1/8/2012 The tiny tots of Std I were taken on a field trip to the Swaminarayan temple for the Hindola

darshan.

The SFA core committee met with Ms. Preeti Zaveri at BHS ONGC to

discuss the syllabus and implementation of the same. The discussion also

included a “ feedback of the syllabus” by the teachers. The discussions

includes training of all teachers.

12/8/12

Teachers & few students participated in Aero Modeling workshop, organized by Vadodara

Innovation Council & kids Invent. This workshop included a powerpoint presentation on “FES

Bike Innovation” by Mr. Birju Patel. Dr. Arun Pratap, Professor, Dept. of Applied Physics,

M.S. University & Mr. Digant Joshi, owner, Aero- Sport Activity Center, both guided the

children in making paper models of aeroplanes.

17/8/12 A meeting with our young girls of Std. V, VI, VII & VIII was held with their mothers &

representative from Procter & Gamble to discuss self grooming and personal hygiene.

25/8/12 Face to face meeting was held for Std. I & II parents. Progress of children was discussed with

their parents. Display of projects was also done.

Our Day school children participated in Geeta Chanting Competition organized by Chinmay

Mission, Vadodara held at Adarsh Kanya Shala, O.P. Road, Vadodara.Ms. Nandini

Parekh(Std. VI) has been selected for the final round.

A General Knowledge Quiz was organized by the “Bal Bhavan Society Vadodara, Kareli

Baug” for the students of Std VII & VIII. Mihir Agarwal & Shreetham Pradhan of Std VII and

Sunetra Gaekwad & Veer Shah of Std VIII represented the school in the Quiz contest.

Four students, Ma. Akshar P. Patel ( VI B), Ms. Vrushti K. Shah (VII C), Ms. Prachi Prajapati (

Std VIII C) & Ma. Rahul R. Pillai ( VIII B) participated in the Geeta Chanting Competition at

Bhavans School organized by the Chinmay Mission.

26/08/12 Ms. Nandini Parekh(Std. VI) participated in the final round of Geeta Chanting Competition

held at B.H.S., Alkapuri.

On the eve of the 66th Independence Day of India an

Inter House English Drama Competition was

organized. In accordance with the occasion, the theme

for the drama was “ struggle for

Freedom”. The students of Std V-

VIII participated in this competition

. The students of Std VA, who

enacted a few incidents in the life of

Bhagat Singh secured the 1st position (V-VI). The theme for Std VII &

VIII was the “ Freedom Struggle of a Foreign Nation”. The students of Std

VIII B staged an act on the Apartheid Movement in South Africa and

secured the 1st position in the competition. The esteemed judges Mrs. Pratima

Verma and Shupti Bhanja were very impressed by the students performance.

A Poster making Competition was organized for

the students of Std V-VIII. The theme for the same were

“Evils of War” Or “Peace” . The students exhibited their

creativity and imagination and made some very

interesting posters.

Celebration & Inauguration

9/8/2012

The students of Std I & II celebrated

“Janmashtami” to mark the birth of Lord

Krishna. All the children came dressed in

colourful dresses, the boys wearing dhoti-kurta

and girls in chania choli. The program

included a skit staged by the II std children

depicting incidents from the life of Lord

Krishna. Some children came dressed as

Krishna & Radha. The students who were adjudged as best dressed

Radha & Krishna were: Khushi M .Singh(ID), Dharma T. Patel (ID), Parth Bhatt (IIB) & Netra

Shah (IIA).

The school celebrated the 66th Independence day with great fervor

and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Mr. K.K.

Verma, Head HR, ER ONGC and the Guest of Honour was Mr.

Mayur Swadia, Treasure BLCET.The national tricolor was unfurled

by the chief guest, which was

followed by the singing of

“Jhanda Ooncha Rahe Hamara”. The

students put up a colourful & enlightening cultural

programme. The soulful rendition of “ Maa Tughe

Salaam” by the children invoked the feeling of patriotism

and sacrifice in each heart. The day school children paid

their tribute to all those who participated in the struggle

for freedom through a small skit. The children enchanted

the audience by their invigorating dance performance to the song “Omkara”.

The inauguration ceremony of the T.T. Hall “

Lakshya” was organized. The Principal

and President of PTA Ms. Alpana Mathur

received the chief guest Mr. Milin Mehta,

President BLCET, MR. Milin Mehta

dedicated the Hall. PTA endeavour, to the

school by cutting the ribbon. Ms. Sangeeta

Dalia sang a small prayer in praise of the Lord Almighty. The chief

guest in his speech motivated the children to strive for excellence. This

was followed by a speech by Dr. Gupte, International umpire and member of Table

Tennis Association, Baroda. The young dancers of our school presented a scintillating

performance on the song “ Bar Bar Haan”. One of the attraction of the Day was a friendly

match between Mr. Milin Mehta and Mr. Parag Parmar, Vice - President PTA. This was

followed by matches between teachers, parents and students of both Primary and Secondary

classes.

„School Games District level Gymnastic Tournament‟ was organized by the District Sports

Office at “Baroda High School ONGC”. Nearly 20 schools participated in it. The following

children brought laurels to our school. Under 14 years (Girls) the winners were : Ria Sharma –

1st, Aastha Surve – 2

nd , Kirti Sagar – 5

th . Under 14 years (Boys) the winners were: Dhruv

Bhatia -1st Divyansh Thakur -2

nd, Kathan Vyas – 3

rd & Bhavya MArjatiya – 4

th. Under 17 years

(Boys) one of our school children Chinmay Nerkar secured the 5th

position. All these children

will represent the school at the State Level Tournament.

The U – 17 boys Hockey team of our school participated in the Jawahar Lal Hockey

Tournament at State Level held at Nargol at Valsad. We are happy to inform that The boys

team secured the 2nd

position in the tournament. They were runners up in the final match

against the Valsad team.

Our school Boys & Girls team participated in the District Level Softball Tournament

organized by the District Sports Office, at the Polo Ground. Four boys & four girls from our

school have been selected for the State Level Tournament .They are : Deep Shah, Rushil

Nayee, Harsh Bhagchandani, Nishant Inamdar, Vrinda Baria, Archi Desai, Maitri Desai, Heta

Shukla.

The District Level Kabaddi Tournament (Boys) was organized by the DSO at Manek Rao

Akhada, Dandia Bazar. Three boys of our Kabbadi team have been selected for the State Level

Tournament.

Our School Girls team participated in the District Level Kabaddi Tournament organized by

the DSO at the Manek Rao Akhada, Dandia Bazar. Three girls from our School have been

selected for the State Level Team.

The School Baseball team (Boys) participated in the District Level Baseball Tournament held

at Polo Ground. Three boys from our school team have been selected for the State Level

Tournament . They are : Yashil Bhatt & Meet chotai.

Our students participated in Baroda District School Games Judo Competition held at Shri

Jamuna Dada Vyayam Mandir Baroda. Our students performed excellently. Our students won

many beats. The girls secured the following position. Under 14 girls:-

Bharadwaj Yakshini(VI A) – 1st ,Vaghanshi Bhakti ( VIII B ) – 2nd , Kaur Ameet (

VII A ) -2nd , Shah Priyanshi ( V A) – 3rd , Patel Nidhi ( VI A) – 3rd , Patel Darshti (

V A ) – 3rd ,Patel Isha ( V) 3rd . Under 17 Girls:-Urja Gandhi ( VIII – B) – 1st .

Yakshini, Kinjal, Khushbu, Urja & Khyati will represent the school at the State

Level Tournament.The boys too performed excellently at the tournament. The

result were:-Bhatt Jimit ( VI ) – 1st, Thakor Shivam ( VII ) – 1st , Purthran Dhiraj (

V) – 1st , Patel Devansh ( V) – 2nd , Yavalkar Sahil ( IV) – 2nd , Patel Sarthak ( VII )

– 3rd , Jain Rudrash ( IV ) – 3rd , Ahah Naitik ( VII ) – 3rd, Patenvadia Sanket ( VI )

– 3rd . Jimit, Shivam, Dhiraj, Nihal, Pruthvir & Yash have been selected for the

State Level Tournament.

Ground. Three girls from our school team have been selected for the State Level Tournament

District Level Kho – Kho Tournament was held at BHS ONGC. The U – 14, U – 16 & U –

19 teams from 9 zones participated in the same. Our school had participated in the U – 14

level. Three girls Maitreyi Desai ( VIII C), Monisha Patel ( VIII B) and Bansari Dalwadi (

VIII C) will represent the school at the State Level. Two of our U – 14 boys, Kirtan Patel ( VIII

A) and Jaydeep Padhiyar ( VIII A) have been selected to represent the school at the State level

Tournament.

4th Open Gujarat Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament was organized at Tennis Club,

Surat. Mitul Patel ( VIII C), Darpan Patel ( VIII C ), Harsh Gajera ( VIII C), Rushabh Shah (

VIII C)participated in the quarters.Mitul Patel, Darpan Patel & Shree Kumar will participated

in the National Level Tournament at Gandhi nagar. In U – 12 Girls Tournament the following

girls participated: Purna Daliaaa ( III D), Aayushi Shah ( V C), Manasvi Joshi ( V C ), Jhanvi

JAnii ( V C ), Heta Shah ( VII C), hetvi Patel ( VII C ), PAlak Patel ( VII C) & Shivani

District Level School Games Tournament & State Level selections were held. Our students

bagged 19 medals including four gold, six silver and nine bronze medals. The winners are :-

Sanskriti Ghelani ( VII C) – 2 gold, 1 silver (1st U – 14 Girls), Hitarth Parmar ( VIII B) – 1

gold, 1 silver ( 1st U- 14 Boys), Mehul Patel ( VI A) 1 gold, 1 bronze, Rajaniket Mishra ( VI
