Married Julia Lyon in Chicago, Illinois
Didn’t have a last name and got one from the boat Lancelot Ford
Became successful from gold and became wealthy
Senior Years
Helped slaves escape to get an education
Built a home in Breckenridge, Colorado and settled there
Three years after wife’s death in 1899, Barney died of a stroke on December 22, 1902
