Why is Easter important for Christians?

    Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 Year 6

Easter is celebrated because Jesus rose from the dead. Easter is important because Christians believe that Jesus died for them. Easter is the chance for Christians to celebrate new life. Eggs may be given to friends and family to show the importance of new life.

Easter allows Christians to remember Jesus saving death. Christians celebrate Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. The resurrection shows the power of Jesus. The resurrection shows that Jesus could rise from the dead. New life is celebrated because Jesus was able to rise again after death.

The resurrection shows the power of Jesus and that he could overcome death. The resurrection allowed Jesus to ascend (rise up) to heaven and be with God His father. The resurrection shows that Christians have victory over sin and death and can go to heaven like Jesus. Easter is important because it shows that the resurrection was evidence that Jesus was the Son of God

The problem of suffering may affect people

in different ways. Some people may react by

praying to God more for additional help and

guidance. This might bring them closer to

God as a result of their increase prayers.

Atheists may choose to believe that suffering

is a result of our bad behaviour and has no

connection with God. These people may look

at suffering as a result of our free will and

put the blame on people instead of God.

Some people may think that is God is all

powerful and all loving then he would do all

he could to stop suffering. These people may

question where this all loving God exists and

may start to doubt God’s existence.

Some people may start praying to

God for help. They might think that

    God will answer their prayers.

    Some people may think that

suffering comes from the people in

    the world.

    Some people might think that

    suffering comes from God to

punish us. They might think that if

    we have done something wrong

    then we need to suffer.
