Upon graduation, you will be prepared to take the Oklahoma State Department of Health Barber Exam to become a licensed barber in Oklahoma. • Personal Tool Kit • Barber Shop open to the public • Precision cutting and design techniques • 65+ years Master Educator’s experience PROGRAM DETAILS Program Length: • Diploma: 53 weeks (day), 78 weeks (evening) • Degree: 93 weeks (day), 118 weeks (evening) Class Times: • Day – 8:00am to 2:00pm, M-F • Evening – 5:30pm to 10:30pm, M-R Credential Earned: Diploma and Degree tracks available. Degree track grants an Associate of Occupational Science (AOS) degree. PREREQUISITES High school diploma or GED and admissions essay required for admittance. JOB OUTLOOK According to the US Department of Labor, employment of barbers is expected to grow 7% by 2020. Demand for hair coloring, straightening, and other advanced hair treatment has increased in recent years, a trend that is likely to continue over the coming decade. Training consists of theory and hands-on learning with mannequins, live models and clients in OTC’s Barber Shop.
