Language: Although their native language is English, in Barbados they use sayings, dis, instead of this and

duh, instead of the, happened instead of happen, wah instead of

what, ya instead of you, and instead of the phrase what happened they

say whahappen.

Foods

In Barbados there are many traditional fish, such as…flying fish Cou Cou is

always served on Friday and two of the traditional foods are cooking fish cakes spicy or mild.  Barbados offers a wide variety of fish throughout their island,

for example Barracuda, Kingfish, Snapper, Bill Fish, Chubb, Yellow Fin

Tuna, and Mahi Mahi.  A wide variety of Bajan spices, such as cloves or onions, are additionally a Barbados custom.  

Music

A lot of reggae music is listened to in Barbados. Along with steel pan music which, is a form of a steel percussion drum and made from pounding the bottom of an oil drum into a bowl shape, They also listen to a lot of gospel music since, they are quite

Economic Aspect

Some resources in Barbados include natural gas and oil. It has a very high

tourist rate as well.  There are probably many U.S. tourists that go

to Barbados.

Current Standard of Living People

The literacy rate is 90.7, and the life expectancy is 74 years old. In terms of the

poverty within the Caribbean countries, Barbados is in a good place. Barbados is said to have the best healthcare in The Caribbean. The unemployment rate is

10.7. Barbados is pretty stable, which is good for the U.S. because we don’t have

to help them a lot.
