STARBUCKS DRIVE THRU - YEADING LONDON - JULY 2018

We opened the first Glass Box Drive Thru in the UK. The store is ideally located on a small retail park in Hayes London near two busy roads (A40 and the M4) The Drive Thru will serve a mixture of customers: commuters, shoppers and local residents.

This store is the first realisation of the original concept that was based on the following brief (2015):

- Create a clearly recognizable Starbucks Drive Thru- Elevate customer and partner experience- Offer flexibility trough a scalable and modular program - Support our sustainability standards and environmental goals

1. MOMENTS OF CONNECTIONThe glass box drive thru truly showcases Starbucks partner and customer connections.The bar literally connects the interior and the exterior, creating an equally important and exciting Starbucks experience for both our driving and our café customers.

2. ELEVATING THE DT EXPERIENCE The landscaping around the store is an integral part of the design.It serves a double purpose, enhancing the Drive Thru experience for our driving customers and creating a recognisable and welcoming demise for the store.

4. CUSTOMER JOURNEYThe glass box drive thru showcases the latest in food and retail lobby design. Introducing a suite of product displays in the retail lobby and bar area that will enable our customers to connect with our core product platforms, our brand and the overall Starbucks Coffee experience.

3. INVITING 3RD PLACEYeading Drive Thru will be used by a diverse mix of customers; morning and evening commuters, families visiting the adjacent stores and locals that live around the corner. The glass box drive thru offers a variety of seating, both indoor and outdoor to cater for the varied needs of all our customers.

5. GREENER RETAILThe glass box design is part of a continuous strategy to explore ways to create sustainable building standards for our stores. Ensuring we design, build, operate and maintain stores that are include our environmental goals;energy and water conservation, renewable energy, recycling and reducing waste.

Yeading Drive Thru will be a LEED accredited store and has additional sustainable design features: Electric Car charging point (in collaboration with Charge Master UK)Exterior and interior bar cladding made out of recycled building wasteGreen living roof

6. ICONIC STARBUCKS DRIVE THRUThe glass box design has some some highly recognisable features setting us apart and creating a unique Starbucks Drive Thru.

Inspired by Californian Mid Century architecture and classic American roadside the design is modern but by no means austere.

Features like the tower and the cantilevering canopy act as a billboard for the store.The glass facades reveals the interior, showcasing our 3rd place and our unique moments of connections
