BAPTIST HOSPITAL VOLUNTEER PRESS BAPTIST HOSPITAL VOLUNTEER PRESS - - VOLUME 73 / VOLUME 73 / JUNE JUNE - - JULY 2013 JULY 2013 2013 HURRICANE SEASON 2013 HURRICANE SEASON 2013 HURRICANE SEASON June 1 June 1 - November 30 November 30 We hope that you have already begun the process of stocking up on hurricane supplies and any materials that you will need to protect your homes. Here are a few important tips and information we would like to share with our volunteers to make sure everyone is prepared. Volunteers should not come to work during a storm threat. It has been established that Volunteer and Er- rand Services are “non-essential” working areas in the hospital in the event of a hurricane. This means, that for your safety, during a Hurricane Watch, volunteers are NOT required to come into the hospital for service. It is recommended that you stay home and keep your family and belongings secure until the storm passes. Baptist Hospital will provide a voicemail message at 1-866-435-7249 Pin # 2473 with the hospital’s information about resuming normal operations. PROJECT VICTORY VOLUNTEERS: PROJECT VICTORY VOLUNTEERS: We sent a farewell to our 2012-2013 Project Victory volunteer students who worked so hard throughout the year at various areas around the hospital, but especially in our special project areas. They have done such a wonderful job with the hospital admission packets, executing important jobs from various departments, as well as providing well needed help throughout different departments in the hospital. Special thanks to their teachers Janet and Julie, whose dedication, passion, and commitment for these youngsters is admirable. We are looking forward to seeing them again in the Fall. WELCOME NEW SUMMER TEEN VOLUNTEERS: WELCOME NEW SUMMER TEEN VOLUNTEERS: This summer a new group of volunteers have joined us and will be here between the months of June and August. The Volunteer Services’ Summer Teen Program was open for the teens of Baptist Hospital employees so that they could complete their community service hours required for school. You will see these volunteers in green polo shirts in various areas around the hospital. Please help us by making them all feel welcome during their time here. OFFICE CLOSED: OFFICE CLOSED: Please be advised that the Volunteer and Errand Services Offices will be CLOSED on Thursday, July 4th in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
