TRAVEL INSURANCE CERTIFICATE

Note: This policy summary is issued for the Cardholder’s information only and is not a contract of insurance. It contains only brief details and is subject to the Terms of the Master Policy, a copy which is available for sighting on reasonable request at Bank of China Limited, Singapore Branch. All endorsements, changes and amendments to the Master Policy as agreed between the Insurer and Bank of China Limited shall be binding without prior notice to the Insured Person.

Cardholder(s) Any person who has a valid Bank of China Visa Infinite Card issued by the Insured.

Policyholder Bank of China Limited, Singapore Branch

Insured Persons Any person not yet 81 years old who is a holder of a Bank of China Visa Infinite Card issued by the Policyholder and will include any Family or any Colleague, up to a maximum of three people, who are all travelling with him/ her on a Journey from his/her Principal Country of Residence with pre-assigned ticketing.

Colleague shall mean any business associate, client, guest, friend or other person (other than Family) as the Cardholder wishes, travelling with the Cardholder on a Journey.

Family shall mean the Spouse and Dependent Children of the holder of the Card.

Spouse refers to the Cardholder’s lawful wife/husband or, if the Cardholder is not married, the Cardholder’s common law partner, cohabiting at the same address for a continuous period of at least 1 year prior to the Journey.

Dependent Children shall mean the children, step-children and legally adopted children of the Cardholder who are:

• unmarried, and;

• living with such Cardholder (unless living elsewhere whilst in full time education), and;

• under 19 years of age (or under 24 years of age if in full time education)

Journey Journey shall mean the first 90 days of any trip falling entirely within the Period of Insurance, where at least 50% of the total value of tickets for travel on a Domestic Common Carrier or Common Carrier have been paid by using such Cardholder’s Bank of China Visa Infinite Card issued by the Policyholder. The Journey shall be deemed to have begun with the Cardholder’s departure from the home where such Cardholder normally resides and shall have ended upon return to that home.

Section 1 – Medical & Travel Assistance Services

1.1 Assistance Services

International SOS will provide various medical and travel assistance Services to the Cardholder. Those Services provided directly by International SOS are covered under the terms of this document. Where a third party, such as a physician or courier, is utilised the provision of such Services is at the expense of the Cardholder, unless such costs are covered under the terms of this document.

1.2 International SOS Services

1.2.1 Telephone assistance

If contacted, International SOS will provide medical advice to the Cardholder by telephone, including information on inoculation requirements for travel. International SOS will also provide information on travel visas. It must be noted that any such advice is inevitably limited by the circumstances and International SOS cannot be held liable for errors.

(i) More than SGD 327.50 in respect of any one article;

Ski area closure

9.2 If a Cardholder is unable to Ski due to adverse weather conditions at their pre-booked ski area, the Underwriters will reimburse the Account Holder for the extra transport and ski lift pass costs if they have to travel to another ski area, up to the limit shown in the Schedule of Benefits.

If a Cardholder is unable to travel to another ski area or it is not possible to Ski, underwriters will pay the Account Holder the amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits.

Specific conditions applying to ski area closure cover:

Written confirmation must be obtained from the appropriate authority to confirm that the ski area was closed and/or it was not possible to travel to another resort.

Cover for ski area closure is only available for Journeys that commence within 105 days from 15th December in any given year.

• Winter sports equipment

9.3 Underwriters will reimburse the Cardholder if winter sports equipment owned by them is lost, stolen or damaged whilst they are on a Journey up to the limit as set out in the Schedule of Benefits. An allowance will be made for wear and tear or depreciation depending on the age of the winter sports equipment at the time of loss or theft. Cover for winter sports equipment is in addition to the cover provided under Section 6 – Loss of Baggage.

• Avalanche Cover

9.4 We will cover the Cardholder for the necessary and reasonable travel and accommodation expenses up to the limit as set out in the Schedule of Benefits that they pay or agree to pay overseas if they are prevented from arriving at or leaving their booked ski resort for more than 12 hours from the scheduled arrival or departure time because of an avalanche. The Cardholder must get written confirmation from the appropriate authority stating the reason for the delay and how long the delay lasted.

Specific Exclusions applying to Section 9

9.5 In addition to the General Exclusions, the following treatment, items, conditions, activities and their related or consequential expenses are specifically excluded from the cover provided by this Section:

i) The Underwriters will not pay for accidental injury, Illness or death caused directly or indirectly by participation in the following winter sports: ski-racing, ski-jumping, snowboarding without a leash, off-piste skiing unless accompanied by a qualified guide or instructor, heliskiing, ice hockey, bobsleighing, the use of skeletons, toboggans or luges, freestyle skiing, or competitive skiing.

ii) Underwriters will not pay for winter sports equipment the Cardholder has left unattended in a public place unless the claim relates to skis, poles or snowboards and the Cardholder has taken all reasonable care to protect them by leaving them in a ski rack between 8am and 6pm.

iii) Underwriters will not pay if the Cardholder does not report the loss to the police, airline, shipping line or their handling agent within 24 hours of discovering the loss and the Cardholder does not have a written report to substantiate his claim.

General Exclusions The general exclusions shown in this summary are not exhaustive, please refer to the policy wording for full details of the general exclusions.

• There are a number of activities, practices and sports that are excluded – please refer to General Exclusions section of the policy wording.

• Wilfully self-inflicted Bodily Injury or Illness, insanity, alcohol, drug or substance abuse or self-exposure to needless peril (except in an attempt to save human life) or suicide.

• Commission of, or the attempt to commit, an unlawful act.

• Travel to a country where the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has advised against non-essential travel.

Claims Procedure To access the medical and travel assistance services or medical emergency assistance please call International SOS at +65 6333 1122. The line is open 24/7/365.

In the event of a non emergency claim, the Cardholder, or his representative, should call +65 6632 8639 during office hours of 09.00 to 17.00hrs. Outside normal (09.00 to 17.00hrs) working hours, the Cardholder should contact Crawfords by email ([email protected]) and request a claim form or call back during office hours as stated above.

In the event a claimant wishes to correspond using an email facility after initially registering a claim via telephone communication, they may correspond using email: [email protected]

The Cardholder must first check his policy wording and the relevant section(s), terms, conditions and exclusions, to ensure that what he is intending to claim for is covered. Original invoices, receipts, official reports, tickets, agreements, credit or debit card slips, or other documentary evidence will be required to be submitted in support of any claim.

Upon reporting a claim, the Cardholder should request a claim form, which should be returned to the address given within 28 (twenty eight) days, along with all required supporting documentation. Claimants are advised to retain copies of all documents for their own reference.

Complaints Procedure The Claims Administrator, Crawford & Co, aims to provide a high class service at all times, however if the service is found to be unsatisfactory, the following procedure is available to resolve the problem:

The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent service in the UK for settling disputes between consumers and businesses providing financial services. More information on the Financial Ombudsman Service can be found on www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

Payment of Claims Benefits payable under this Policy for any loss will be paid immediately upon receipt of the written proof of such loss and all required information necessary to support the claim. Underwriters may in any claim for damage recoverable hereunder, require the Cardholder to send the damaged item to an address designated by Underwriters at the Cardholder’s expenses.

All Benefits payable will be paid to the Cardholder or, in the case of death, to the Cardholder’s estate.

Choice of Law This insurance is governed and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction in any dispute arising hereunder unless otherwise agreed by underwriters in writing.

Use of Language Unless otherwise agreed, the contractual terms and conditions and other information relating to this contract will be in English.

PURCHASE PROTECTION INSURANCE

Covered Purchase An item purchased by a Cardholder and paid for by using a valid Bank of China Visa Infinite Card. For a purchase to be considered a Covered Purchase, the entire purchase amount for the item must have been made through the Bank of China Visa Infinite Card.

Limit of Indemnity The maximum amount of third party expenses for which the Underwriters shall be responsible under this Certificate towards any one Cardholder during any one event, subject to the terms and conditions as defined hereunder.

Description of cover 1.1 Purchase Protection

Subject to the Schedule of Benefits, if a Covered Purchase, or a Covered Purchase given as a gift, is stolen or damaged, benefits will be paid subject to Section 1.1.1, Purchase Protection: Valuation, up to the amounts described in Section 1.1.2, Purchase Protection: Scope of Coverage.

Losses must occur within a) 90 Domestic days and b) 90 International Overseas days of the date of the Covered Purchase. No registration of the Covered Purchase is necessary.

Coverage is excess of SGD 50 each and every occurrence or any other applicable insurance or indemnity the eligible person may have. Coverage is limited only to those amounts not covered by any other insurance or indemnity, up to the original purchase amount. In no event will this coverage apply as contributing insurance. This insurance is excess of all other valid and collectable insurance clauses found in other insurance or indemnity language.

1.1.1 Purchase Protection Valuation

Underwriters shall be liable for the lesser of the following amounts:

1) the amount of the Covered Purchase indicated on the Eligible Account ;

or

2) the actual cost to repair or replace the Covered Purchase with an item of like, kind and quality.

With respect to Covered Purchase which consist of articles in a pair or set, the Underwriters’’ liability shall be limited to the cost of any particular part(s) which may be stolen or damaged, unless the articles are unusable individually and cannot be replaced individually; provided, however, liability for items of jewellery or fine arts consisting of articles in a pair, set or collection will not be more than that cost of any particular parts which may be lost or damaged without reference to any special value which such article or articles may have as part of such pair, set or collection.

1.1.2 Purchase Protection Scope of Coverage

The maximum liability of the Underwriters under this Policy is as indicated in the Schedule(s) of Benefits.

Coverage limits for eligible persons are subject to limitations stated in the Schedule(s) of Benefits.

Exclusions General Exclusions

The general exclusions shown in this summary are not exhaustive please refer to the policy wording for full details of the general exclusions.

• Claims relating to the commission of, or the attempt to commit, an unlawful act;

• Any expense, regardless of any contributory cause(s), involving the use of or release or the threat thereof of any nuclear weapon or device or chemical or biological agent, including but not limited to expenses in any way caused or contributed to by an Act of Terrorism or war.

Purchase Protection specific exclusions

• Covered Purchases do not include: 1) boats; 2) motorised vehicles (including but not limited to aeroplanes, automobiles, trailers, caravans or any towed items and motorcycles) or their motors, equipment and accessories (including but not limited to communication devices intended solely for use in the vehicle); 3) land or buildings (including but not limited to homes and dwellings); 4) travellers cheques, tickets of any kind, negotiable instruments, deposits or down-payments of any kind, bullion, rare or precious coins, cash or its equivalent; 5) plants or animals; 6) consumables and perishables; 7) items which the Eligible Person damages through alteration (including cutting, sawing or shaping); or 8) services (including but not limited to the performance or rendering of labour or maintenance, repair or installation of products, goods, property or professional advices of any kind).

• Theft of, or damage to, jewellery, cameras or video recording equipment contained in baggage is not covered unless carried by the Cardholder by hand or under the Cardholder’s personal supervision or the one of a travelling companion previously known to the Cardholder.

• Coverage is not provided for theft or damage caused by fraud, abuse, wear and tear, gradual deterioration, moths, vermin, inherent product defects, war or hostilities of any kind (including but not limited to invasion, rebellion or insurrection); any weapon of war employing atomic fission or radioactive force, whether in time of peace or war and nuclear reaction or nuclear radiation or radioactive contamination, all whether controlled or uncontrolled, and whether such loss be direct or indirect, proximate or remote, or be in whole or in part caused by, contributed to or aggravated by the perils insured against in this Policy; confiscation by any government, public authority or customs official; risks of contraband, losses arising from illegal activity or acts; act of God (including but not limited to flood, hurricane and earthquake); Mysterious Disappearance; property while in the care, custody or control of any common carrier.

• Coverage is not provided for loss or damage when the Cardholder fails to exercise Due Diligence to avoid or diminish loss or damage to Covered Purchases.

• Items stolen from public places are not covered unless they are locked wherever and whenever circumstances permit. Stolen items are not covered unless they are reported as stolen, within 36 hours, to the police or an appropriate authority where the incident took place.

• Items stolen from unattended vehicles are not covered.
