sauLo ribas was born in São Paulo and likes to make up stories since childhood. He has worked for a design magazine, but found out what he really likes when he produced games, stories and illustrations for children.

Xavier barTaburu always liked to write. As a child, he would fill up page after page of stories and poems, which he would later staple together as if they were books. Today he writes real books for children and adults, usually talking about Brazilian subjects, such as our animals, our people, and of course our enchanted creatures.

One day, Cleo woke up and noticed that a tail had somehow grown on her backside. A very rough alligator tail... With her friend Pingo, she discovered that she is not an ordinary girl, but a Cuca (a mythological creature from the Brazilian folklore)!

The book Cleo and the Mapinguari tells the adventures of fantastic creatures from the Brazilian mythology in search of their identity. No longer in the forest, but among us. The adventure introduces children to Brazilian traditions. After all, Cleo and her friends are half people, half mythological creatures, but they go to school, have a family and are growing up just like all the other children.

NOTE BY NOTE, A STORY TO READ MUSIC AND PLAY THE SOPRANO FLUTENota a Nota, uma história para aprender a ler música e tocar flauta doce

Text by MargareTe KiShi diniz

Illustrations by CeCíLia eSTeveS

isbn 978-85-66587-14-2full-colour illustrationsCD with the songs112 pages I 22 x 26,5 cm

MargareTe Kishi diniz was born in a farm in São Paulo (Brazil). She has a Music degree and a post-graduate degree in Music Therapy. She has attended several Music Education courses, including the Orff Method in Salzburg, Austria. With over 30 years of experience as a music teacher in great and renowned schools of São Paulo, every day she reinforces her belief in the undisputed power of music to the global development of anyone, whether a child, a young person or an adult.

The book Note by Note, a story to read music and play the soprano flute presents a fictional narrative to give meaning and playfulness in decoding musical notes, introducing the child to musical literacy, applying this knowledge to learn an instrument, in this case, the soprano flute.

The King Donaldo, the Treble clef, The Fairy, Mili the cat, and many other characters introduce the musical notes and teach how to decode them on the music sheet.

The book helps to teach music and it is an invitation to sound appreciation. The songs were especially composed so the child can feel integrated into an aesthetic beauty: the arrangements, melody, harmony, rhythm and musical performance enable the child to develop their technical and expressive skills.

FANTASTIC AMAZON: THE MOST EXTRAORDINARY MYTHS, LEGENDS AND MYSTERIES OF THE GREAT FOREST Amazônia Fantástica: os mais extraordinários mitos, lendas e mistérios da grande floresta

Text by Jairo CoSTa

Jairo CosTa was born in the Amazon, more precisely in Belém, in the state of Pará, Brazil. Family narratives, in addition to trips around the region with his father, provided the author a rich contact with tales, legends and myths told by Indians, natives, shermen, and boat captains.

He is author and editor of several publications on politics and underground culture. In addition, he develops illustration and photography works. The book Fantastic Amazon is the product of a broad research that took more than six years to be completed.

Fantastic Amazon gathers stories from Indians, riverine populations, fishermen, and even from the urban population, in order to introduce readers to the unusual and amazing world of the myths, legends, and mysteries of the great tropical rainforest.

Fantastic Amazon rescues old oral tales born in the heart of the jungle and told from generation to generation. It also unveils the more recent mysteries that culminated in countless expeditions into the forest. Together, past and present give shape to the current collective unconsciousness in the Amazon and navigate through its waterways, crossing our borders ahead and beyond.
