Balzar Beskow - quality furniture since 1957

Balzar Beskow has manufactured and supplied furniture to the contract market since the start in 1957. We produce in our own factory in Mönsterås, in the south of Sweden. Through the years we have accumulated lots of experi-ence, which we share with our customers to help them get the most out of their furniture. We are family owned

company that always focuses on our customers and product quality.

The Swedish craftsmanship, quality and choice of material are important corner stones. This is why we work closely with designers who have a background in craftsmanship, tradition and quality thinking. We always strive to meet the customer’s needs and with our experience and knowledge build long lasting furniture for tough use in public areas.

Balzar Beskow has and aims to continue to spread Swedish design. Our furniture can be found in Scandinavia, Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, the United States and Japan.

Sustainability has always been at the core of what we do, and it will continue be so. This is valid for design, raw materials, production, the term times use, as well as the final recycle. Sustainability is also valid for our relations

within the company and outside, from the supplier of the raw material or design to the daily user of the furniture to the person recycling it. Sustainability is our goal and you assurance.

This family spans from the tiny little sofa table to the grand boardroom tables. It is indeed a big family. With eight different standard feet and four different standard heights, many choices of surfaces and coatings, the chance is good you will find your perfect family member. But as allways if you need

another size, height, shape, coating, function, we will solve it for you if it is possible, and present you with a member of the family that fits you perfectly.

The three schools of Lerum

In Lerum outside Gothenburg in southwest Sweden three new schools were furnished this summer. Lekstorpskolan. Ljungvikskolan and Röselidsskolan are the first step in Lerum municipalitys strive to be

one of the most environmentally sound places in Sweden.

The scools are for children from six to sixteen years of age.

The study chairs are the S-393 A in birch for the older children and the S-293 H in birch for the younger. The tables are the B-305 Line table with birch laminate top with an acoustic inlay of cork. The Flea cup-

board as been used in the classrooms. Overall 1500 study chairs were delivered for this project.

S-293 & S-393- the story behind the chairs

After having a sucsess with the S-393 chair we decided to go smaller and more childish. We realized that the chair for the teachers in Kindergarten projects often were chosen to look as much as possi-ble like the childrens chairs. The childrens chair S-293 was created. In a school project a study chair was needed and the S-293 H was a high version of the childrens chair with footrest and would work in a classroom. The final gap in the series was the high chair for the smallest children, the S-293 HB.

Balzar Beskow - auditorial furniture

The planning and seating layout of an auditorium is a subject requiring a great deal of practical excperience and technical knowledge. Balzar Beskow has developed and manufactured auditorium chairs since 1965. In this

time we have accquired practical excperience and skills that are needed at all stages.

From the beginning of a project the client or architect can be advised as to the choice of the most suitable chair design. At the next stage we supply drawings of the chairs and most importantly the layout of the auditorium. With our own development and manufacturing resources we are able to meet the differing demands of our

clients as every auditorium is unique in some aspects. As an example at Balzar Beskow we have developed mobile seating and also the ability to link up PC´s within an auditorium at clients request.

The chairs are manufactured entirely within our own factory at Mönsterås ensuring our full control of quality at all stages including metal, woodframing and the entire upholstery detail. It is the same team that makes the assembly at the Balzar Beskow factory that install the seating at the final location. To guarantee a high quality
