● Coating (Body): Only Anti-Corrosive Coating (Except for Stainless Steel)

(1) Secondary Seat

If the PTFE seat is destroyed by fire or the like, the ball

adheres directly to the metal seat provided on the seat,

preventing excessive leakage from the valve seat. The flow

is not directional and there are metal seats on all sides.

(2) Metal-to-Metal Body Seal

The seals for the body and flange joints have a double-layer

sealing mechanism made up of a gasket and a metal-to-

metal contact. This prevents excessive leakage to the

outside of the valve from the body joints in the event that the

gasket is destroyed by fire.

(3) Stem Guard Mechanism

The flange provided on the stem prevents the stem from

popping out due to fluid pressure. Also, in the event that the

gland packing is destroyed by fire, the stem flange adheres

to the body, preventing excessive fluid leakage to the

outside of the valve.

(4) Antistatic Mechanism (optional)

 An optional antistatic mechanism can be provided to

prevent the accumulation of static electricity (produced by

friction between the ball and seat) inside the valve.

The antistatic mechanism consists of a wire spring inserted

into the groove inside the packing retainer ring.

Because L2 model has no seat on the middle port,

the pocket can be clogged up by a fluid with solids.

In such case, please use L4 or L3 model.

Please choose position or position as shut down position fora double acting port with solenoid valve.

Even if non-solenoid valve is installed, please choose position or

position as air leakage position for a single acting port.

● Regarding to T port, you can specify its form from the following positions (rotated 90 degrees each.)

Please choose shut down position for a double acting port with a solenoid valve, and air leakage positions for a

single acting port.

 Applying high pressure on the plane indicated by arrows may cause downflow leakage.

■ Tough Seal Type V Port Valve (V100ND)

● Application Features

● Pocketless Structure

The seat is provided only on one surface of the primary side, so fluid does not collect in the flow passage of the

valve or get stuck between the ball and the valve body. Accordingly, this type of valve is suitable for lines withhighly viscous fluids or fluids that include sludge and fibrous content and the like. In addition, there is no abnormal

rise in pressure as in the case of ordinary ball valves, so there is no damage to the ball, seat or other parts due to

abnormal pressure increases.

● Tough Seal

The use of a metal seat enables the valve to be used in high temperature environments, and the seat has sufficient

rigidity and flexibility to provide sealing in pressures ranging from vacuum to high pressure, without being affected

by differences in temperature and pressure.

The valve is also wear-resistant with respect to fluids containing slurry, powder and other wear-inducing

substances.

● Full Flow

When the valve is fully open, the flow passage is almost straight, reducing pressure loss and ensuring a large

capacity flow.

● Shearing Action

The V-shaped cut on the ball shuts out fibrous material, solids and so on, making the valve suitable for use on

paper and pulp factory lines.

● Precision Control

The V-shaped cut on the ball increases rangeability and enhances flowrate control performance as compared toball, diaphragm or butterfly valves.

In addition, the inherent flow characteristics are approximately equal percent characteristics.

● Configuration Features

● Integrated Body

The valve body is an all-in-one body, so there are no fluctuations in valve torque due to pipe stress and no drop in

sealing performance or external leakage.

The face-to-face specifications are in accordance with ISO 5752.

● Flexible Seat

1) Centripetal Type Seat

 All three types of seat—solid, thin and soft—are provided with a clearance C for the inner diameter of the body

and the outer diameter of the seat.

 Accordingly, providing a seat on the spherical surface creates a centripetal seal surface for the seat and ensures

uniform contacting.

2) Sealing Principle and Major Applications

There are three types of seat: a solid (thick plate) seat, a thin (thin plate) seat and a soft (Reinforced PTFE) seat.

This makes it possible to accommodate the properties of various fluid types.

2.1) Solid (Thick Plate) Seat

The notched section provided on the rear surface of the seat clamps the insert tightly in place,enabling the proper

allowable valve seat leakage and valve torque to be provided by cantilever action.

This type of seat is used primarily for highly viscous fluids and fluids containing slurry and powder.

2.2) Thin (Thin Plate) Seat

 A thin stainless steel spring is used as the thin seat. As in the case of the solid seat, the sealing principle is

cantilever action. However, the thin seat has great flexibility, so the allowable valve seat leakage and valve torque

can be set lower than in the case of the solid seat.

This type of seat is used primarily for fibrous fluids, highly viscous fluids and sludge.

2.3) Soft (Reinforced PTFE) Seat

The seat is made of Reinforced PTFE (CF). However, as in the case of 2.1) and 2.2), the principle is cantilever

action through the use of a seat spring, so stable sealing performance is provided.This type of seat is used primarily for ON-OFF control of water, gas, solvents and other cleaning fluids.

3) Seat Compatibility

The solid seat, thin seat and soft seat are compatible with one another.

● Precision Ball

The ball is a precision ball manufactured using the lost wax method. The sealing surface is coated with Nickel

based self-fluxing alloy or polished with a #400 Buffing.

The Nickel based self-fluxing alloy coated sealing surface is precision-lapped.

●Full FlowWhen the valve is fully open, the ball is almost entirely hidden on the outside of the flow path, preventing fluid

blockage and cavitation and allowing slurry and the like to pass smoothly.

● Stable Bearing Performance

The bearings provided on the sliding surfaces of the stem and

trunnion are made of a special Reinforced PTFE.

This reduces operational torque and enables the bearings to cope

with very frequent valve action.

● Gland Packing with Excellent Sealing Performance

The use of V packings that reduces clamping force and provides

excellent sealing action, enabling perfect sealing for pressures ranging from vacuum to high pressure.

● Can be operated manually using a hexagonal wrench, but has no built-in interlock switch

● Can be used as a regulating valve through the attachment of a Seitroller (Electric positioner) and potentiometer

● Model SRJ (manufactured by SEIBU ELECTRIC & MACHINERY CO., LTD.)

● Comparatively lightweight, compact drive section using aluminum alloy

• Degree of Protection: IP68 (units are available for use in underwater)

● Can accommodate either single-phase or three-phase AC power

■ 3-Way Type-Y Ball Valve Configuration and Features

● Major Applications

Type-Y ball valves are ideally suited for use with fluids containing powders, slurry or other highly wear-inducing fluids and

highly viscous fluids, or for cleaning the interior of pipes including valves, or to allow the passage of pigs or spheres in order to

avoid contamination from (mixing of) different fluid types.

● Features

1Wide Angle Body Shape

Whereas ordinary 3-way ball valves have a bending angle of 90°, type-Y valves have a wide bending angle of 135° to

enable the passage of pigs or spheres to clean the pipe interior.

2 Selectable Mounting Position

Two types of flange are available: a straight flange and one with a 22.5° bend. These two types of flange can be

mounted at any three locations to enable various mounting patterns.

3 Ideal Ball Design

The integrated ball and stem unit is held in place by bearings at the top and bottom, forming an ideal trunnion (fixed ball)

system. The ball radius of curvature is at least 1.5 times the size of the aperture. This reduces pressure loss and

minimizes damage to the body and ball from highly wear-inducing fluids (as compared to a 90° three-way valve).

4 Primary Side Seal Mechanism

The spring at the seat rear surface (rubber cushion for DN100 and below; metal spring

for DN125 and above) provides excellent sealing even in the event

of temperature cycles and pressure fluctuations. Moreover,

the valve seals at the primary (entrance) side seat,

helping to prevent functioning from being impaired

by powder flowing into the pockets.

5 O-Ring Seal

O-Rings are used at each seal, providing

stable sealing performance and eliminating

the need for periodic tightening.

6 Stable Bearing Performance

Special Reinforced PTFE bearings

are used for the bearings for the shafts

above and below the ball.

This prevents galling and enables

the valve to cope with very frequent operation.

7 Purge Holes

There are two plugs on the body.

Blowing charges of air into the pockets helps prevent powder from flowing in and also makes it possible to check for

leaks caused by seat wear as well as purge the powder remaining in the pockets and so on.
