Description
Danfoss balancing ball valves BaBV have been specially designed for District heating applications. This specification includes high working temperature (150 °C) and high pressures (PN 25).
BaBV belong to steel ball valves with fully welded body. Perfect combination of balancing and shut-off function secures:• Clear and precise balancing:
In order to make the commissioning process easier BaBV has a special handle with clear positioning visualization.
Independent Balancing and Shut-off function secure that balancing pre-setting is not affected during shut-off.
• Perfect Shut-off function: Optimal tightness (Leakage Class rate A) and long life time are secured with design and material selection in ball seal (carbon reinforced PTFE) and stem seal (EPDM).
• the valves are maintainance free.
Main data:• DN 50-150• kVS 65-550• PN 25• Temperature: 2…150 °C• Flange or welded connection
Approvals and norms:• 100 % final inspection. Leak and shell test as
well as dimension and functionality test is performed on each and every valve according to applicable standard GOST 9544-2005.
• Danfoss A/S is certified according to ISO 9001. • Furthermore certified according to ISO 14001.

Sizing
Example:BaBVQ = 25 m3/h∆p = 10 kPa
Calculation of setting for valve:In the diagram a straight line connecting the bars for flow 25 m3/h, differential pressure 10 kPa and kv value shows the relationship between these three variables.
Installation The valve is independed from mounting orientation. In order to avoid turbulence, which will effect the measuring accuracy, it is recommended to have a straight length of pipe up and down stream from the valve as shown (D - diameter of pipe).
The influence of turbulence, if ourrecommendations are not adhered to, caninfluence the flow up to 20%.
When connecting differential pressure meter (f.e. PFM 4000) pay attention to direction of the flow to avoid wrong measurments of the differential pressure.
A horizontal line from intersection with the kv bar shows the presetting value for each valve size.
Result: BaBV DN 80 presetting 5.0
