Bacon & Co has been established since 1990. Principal Glen Bacon has been
involved in the local property market for over 35 years. The business was
initially created from the Crabtree Lane premises offering residential sales,
lettings and financial services from the one office.
Properties in the Worthing, Lancing and Sompting areas were handled from
Crabtree Lane with the Letting Department also ‘spreading its wings’ to let homes
on the coastal strip between Southwick and Littlehampton.
Expansion of the business started with the acquisition of premises in central
Lancing at Station Parade – giving the company a high profile location opposite
the railway station.
January 2003 saw the opening of the first Worthing office at Downlands Parade
– a highly visible outlet, and the first agency to be found by visitors to the town
travelling in from East Sussex. The launch of Downlands Parade was swiftly

Glen started his career in 1977 with a prominent Lancing based Estate Agent, spending the next 13 years with three Worthing based agencies,
culminating with an Associate Partnership. He set up Bacon & Co in 1990 and is very proud to have overseen the expansion that has taken
place in the intervening years. Glen now has over 35 years experience in the property industry and is a Fellow of the National Estate Agents
Association and a Member of the Association of Residential Lettings Agents.
David Hughes, Director
Dave started his career at the age of 16 as a Trainee Negotiator, progressing to the position of Branch Manager at the age of 21. He then
advanced on to Area Manager for two corporate companies in the South East, based in Worthing, and was responsible for both the Estate
Agency and the Financial Services side of the business, having passed the CeMAP exams in 2001. Dave then joined Bacon & Co in 2003, and
was instrumental in setting up the Worthing offices, becoming a Director in 2005.
Wayne Kenward FNAEA, Director
Wayne started his career in Estate Agency by joining a Brighton based firm in 1978, moving to a leading Worthing Estate Agent where
he was promoted to the position of Branch Manager. He then later became a Branch Director for a corporate chain. Wayne joined
Bacon & Co in 1996 becoming a Director in 2003. With over 35 years experience in the industry, Wayne is also a Fellow of the
National Estate Agents Association.
Hayley Scammell MARLA, Director
Hayley started her career in Estate Agency in 1985 joining Glen Bacon in 1990 when Bacon & Co opened their first office in Crabtree Lane,
Lancing. In 1991 Hayley introduced Lettings to the business and has worked hard developing this side of the company, becoming a Director
of Bacon & Co Lettings Ltd in 2004. She is a Member of the Association of Residential Lettings Agents.
followed by a second Worthing office giving clients greater exposure of their
homes to potential purchasers.
Growth in the letting department, run by Director Hayley Scammell, saw the
transfer of this part of the business to its own premises in Lancing in 2004. The
lettings department has a reputation for high levels of client care which has seen
continued growth and prosperity.

past and present. We have taken part in the
Worthing Birdman Competition in aid of Freddysmile
and have also been one of the main sponsors of the
Children’s Playday on Broadwater Green for the past
few years, a fantastic annual event for families. We
enjoy being part of the local community and you will
often see us taking part in many of the local festivals
throughout the year.
Working together for a better future
We help many local schools by sponsoring summer
fetes and prize evenings. We also regularly run our own
competitions in conjunction with schools, offering
prizes to the children and their schools alike. We
delight in giving something back to the community
which is why you will find us inviting all children to
come and visit Father Christmas in one of our offices
over the festive period. All proceeds are in aid of
Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice. Our
dedicated staff are also often found to be taking part
in sponsorship events in aid of local charities.

addition, it will also give you information on when your property will be
advertised in the local paper and how many people have viewed your property
on Rightmove.
