It focuses on training in agriculture, business and value chain development for rural women and youth and operates a naonally accredited training facility in Kpassa, Volta Region, with its Head Office in Accra. It also conducts internaonal and regional training workshops across the country. It has professional partners who travel to rural communies to educate groups of young people in skills that will improve their economic opportunies, while contribung posively to the economic development of their communies. IDENTIFIED NEED The main objecve of the project is to support VET centres to build their capacity and knowledge and overcome challenges in three areas in order to support young people’s transion from training to employment: • Public Private Partnership - to provide guidance on aligning training programmes to the needs of the private sector and engaging more effecvely with companies to accept more placements. To improve strategies for engaging employers in different aspects of TVET provisions and developing PPPs. • Career Guidance and Counselling – to provide targeted training to introduce new career guidance methods to support youth in their transion to the local labour market. • Curriculum Development including in food and beverage processing and dairy, as well as in entrepreneurship (agripreneurship), life skills and ICT. WHAT WORKED WELL

• Communication and awareness creation strategies on the project development objectives

• There was a high level of participation of targeted groups on realizing the project objectives

• Readiness of project beneficiaries to support the sustainability of the project

WHAT WE WILL DO DIFFERENTLY

• Increase the level of advocacy campaign to include more marginalized and disadvantaged groups

• Provide more incentive mechanisms to sustain their interest throughout the project life-cycle

ACTIVITIES

The intervention focussed on supporting the enhancement of the skills system in the areas of private sector engagement, curriculum development and careers guidance, through:

• providing advisory and training services to targeted participants and strengthening their capacity to establish linkages between the public and private sector

• providing a platform for careers guidance and counselling services to strengthen their capacity to offer career guidance to prospective students

• providing advisory services on curriculum improvement in the areas of Meat and Fish processing to meet the standards of labour market.
