Background information Into my artist 1) The song ‘you don’t know me’ is written by my artist not by someone else working for the Liberty records. My artist expresses how she feels about society and conforms to these expectations in her lyrics and video narratives. My artist represents different groups in society representation through the media for example. My artist uses this to enthuse her into writing lyrics about how she feels about these representations. Her feelings are portrayed through her lyrics and video narrative. In ‘you don’t know me’ she reinforces these stereotypes, however at the end the stereotypes are all subverted by a spin to the narrative. This makes it apparent that all the stereotypes and misrepresentation influential institutes such as the media have are wrong and need to end as the consequences on the target is damaging emotionally. As a result of this the generation used as scapegoats will become resentful and may end up conforming. My narrative overcomes these prejudices. 2) My artist has not personally gone through the exact situation in the narrative. However the emotions behind the narrative and lyrics she has. Artist background: 1) My artist had a passion for singing since a young child.

She is inspired by people’s life experiences and takes inspiration from this when writing her lyrics.

2) In high school she started posting videos on Youtube and Soundcloud, through this she gained a fan base.

3) The songs she creates are deeply personal as well as they convey her emotions and judgment on things, this is portrayed through her vocals, lyrics and narratives.

4) My artist started recreating songs from bigger artist and posted these on social Medias such as Soundcloud.

5) Also she took part in small gigs that was unpaid, she did it as a hobby to begin with.

6) My artist popularity and name became more recognised when she started featuring on radios, through this she received a record deal.

Jake Bugg-He began playing the guitar and singing when he was twelve after his uncle began teaching him the basic chords on a guitar.He used to play bass in the band The Swiines with his cousin.He enrolled in a music technology course but dropped out in pursuit of his own singing/songwriting career. Jake Bugg first gained attention in 2011 when the BBC selected him for their 'Introducing stage' at Glastonbury Festival. He soon signed with Mercury records.In 2012, he made an appearance on 'Later.. He released his self-titled debut album which Europe wide chart hit and reached number one in the UK.
