Oct. 16 - On Friday morning at 10:00 am in th e T errace Room, residen t historian, Bob Tagarz presented a surprising and dynamic look at the history of the Grand Hotel. At 11:00 am, Hai r Stylist Dee Burch presented models wearing "The Elegant Edwardian," Hair and Fash ions 1901-1912. At 1:00 pm in t h e Theatre, INSITE Founder and author of The Somewhere in Time Story, Bill Shepard explored the "Secrets of Somewhere in Time.” At 2:00 pm Director of Photography, Isidore Mankofsky revealed his challenges. We indulged ourselves in the Grand Hotel’s luxurious afternoon high tea. At 3:00 pm in the Theatre Jane Seymour revealed much about her personal life including her love affair with Christopher Reeve. The gown she wore was a reproduction of the most famous one from the film. She then signed autographs again for hours before introducing the second showing of the film. Friday evening was another opportunity to dress for dinner. Oct. 17 - On Saturday morning Titanic expert David Kaplan revealed a look at the sinking of that colossal ship. The Titanic is from the same time period. At 11:00 am in the Terrace Room we witnessed a series of informal conversations with Cast and Crew members. Everyone dressed elegantly for the Grand Buffet Luncheon. After lunch we took our first $5 per person horse taxi to town to do some shopping. There are no motorized vehicles allowed on the island, horse taxis, bicycles and walking are the only choices. The town was decorated for Halloween, their final holiday before the island closes down for six months because the lake freezes over and the ferries cannot operate. Everything was on sale, even this hat shaped like a hamburger. Some of us bought gloves and sweatshirts to keep us warm,
