Classroom Expectations
It is expected that all students in third grade will honor the Gorman Crossing RRR’s. Setting personal and/or team goals is encouraged and students will be honored for attaining their goals
When needed, students will be given verbal redirection.When needed, students will be given verbal redirection.
Reflection forms will be used for students who continue to demonstrate inappropriate behavior after having received numerous verbal redirections. They can also be given immediately for more serious infractions.
If a form is sent home, please use the opportunity to discuss the situation with your student. Sign the form and return it the following day.

READING
The students will read both literary and informational texts throughout the school year. We will focus on the following skill areas: decoding and word attack strategies for unfamiliar words, fluency in reading, increasing vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
• The students will practice writing skills across the curriculum. The writing forms practiced are:
. They will use their knowledge of the writing process and also continue to use the 6 + 1 Traits of Writing as a tool when they write.

MATHMath is a combination of understanding concepts, computational fluency, and problem-solving.
