Monash University’s Bachelor of International Business offers students study abroad programs at some of the world’s top universities in China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Italy. Programs are integrated into your degree structure, meaning you’ll get to spend a full trimester studying abroad. All programs are delivered in English and offer you the chance to learn about the business practices, challenges and opportunities of your chosen country, while immersing yourself in its culture.
In order to apply you will need to be in your final year of the Bachelor of International Business or have completed 72 credit points. You will also need to meet the weighted average mark specific to each location, and have four elective units available in your degree.

WHEN IS IT?
Mid February to mid June.
WHERE WILL I STUDY?
You will study a unit at Monash University in Prato, Italy. Then you’ll choose from a wide range of electives offered at Monash University Malaysia.
WHAT WILL IT COST?
Your current tuition fee arrangements for four units at Monash, plus students are required to book and pay for their flight and to pay for accommodation and living costs.
ARE THERE SCHOLARSHIPS & GRANTS ON OFFER?
Australian students qualify for the generous New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant funding to support their study abroad. Monash Malaysia offers additional scholarships to the value of $900, which helps students cover accommodation and airfare costs. Domestic students also qualify for the Monash Malaysia package, which includes a sponsored student Visa, Airfare re-imbursement of $585, free campus accommodation and a free airport pick up!
ARE THERE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES?
Internships are not currently a part of this program.
This unique 16-week study abroad program includes travel to Italy to study for 10 days at the Monash University campus in Prato, followed by a full trimester of study at the Monash Malaysia campus in Kuala Lumpur. Student accommodation and facilities are of very high quality and come at a very reasonable cost.
You’ll join classes with students from all over the world, try international cuisine, experience the bustling nightlife and immerse yourself in a culture that’s as exciting as it gets! Career advice and support for students wishing to work in South East Asia, Australia, or other locations is also included in this program.

JAPANDuring this 20-week study abroad experience, you’ll get the chance to study at one of Japan’s most prestigious universities. During the program, special cultural experiences and tourist activities will be arranged for you as part of your academic study program. During previous study abroad trips, these have included day visits and overnight stays at Hiroshima, Miyajima, Kyoto and Nara.

You’ll have a choice between Osaka University and Tsukuba University.

Your current tuition fee arrangements for the four units at Monash (HECS) for domestic and full-fee for international students will cover the tuition costs.
ARE THERE SCHOLARSHIPS & GRANTS ON OFFER?
All students engaging in an internship abroad will be eligible for a $900 scholarship to help with accommodation fees. Australian students also qualify for the generous New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant funding, which will further support their study abroad.
ARE THERE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES?
Internships are optional in Japan and are open to both domestic and international students. There is also an additional $1000 under the New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant available for Australian citizens. These internships can provide the basis for a Monash unit BEX3350 Investigative project in business.

CHINAThis exciting 15-week program includes visits to companies, tourist attractions, and a full trimester studying business and cultural subjects. You’ll not only travel and study with your classmates, you’ll be part of the larger Peking University student body. Living on campus you’ll get the chance to experience a wide variety of food and cultural activities that the University and Beijing has to offer.
If you are a domestic student and receive NCP funding, there will be special cultural experiences and tourist activities arranged for you. During previous study abroad trips, these have included day visits and or overnight stays to Shanghai, Qingtongxia Yellow river and grand canyon, Shapotou desert and the Helan mountain Yingchuan.
