31
CAN I CHANGE MY MIND?
• The answer is YES.
• Students may discontinue the dual degree option by withdrawing from the
BEd program and then proceed with completing requirements for Bachelor
degree major in the home faculty.
• Students who do not complete the dual degree option can finish the first degree
and apply to the BEd program later as a post-degree program.
32
W H A T K I N D O F S U P P O R T I S A V A I L A B L E ?
• Students have a faculty academic advisor and a TEO program coordinator.
• Students meet with their advisors regarding course completion for each degree program.
• Students confirm graduation eligibility in the academic major during Year 5 Winter Term 2.
• The BEd program coordinator will review BEd requirements.
• Students graduate from both programs at the same time even if home faculty requirements
are completed sooner.
33
WHY CHOOSE THE DUAL DEGREE?T I M E : • fewer courses in Year 5 allow more flexibility• to reflect on meaningful learning between programs• saved from fewer courses required in each program• earlier graduation (May) compared to the four-year plus one-year programs
(November)• earlier teacher certification for hiring into teaching positions
T U I T I O N : • reduced number of credits compared to the four-year Bachelor plus one-year
post-degree Bachelor of Education
