Project Work : 100 Marks
The Project work is compulsory for every student.
The student has to write Project Work on any one of the subjects offered by him. The same
topic he may continue through out his Degree Course by further extending upgrading and
changing it.
Every year, in the First Semester, the project work will be of 50 marks. It will be evaluated
internally while in the second semester the evaluation of the Project will don by both internal
and external examiner, this will also be of 50 marks.
The Project work should be hand written by the candidate in about 10-15 pages.
It is desired that the project should be carrier and oriented, hence the tentative areas are
following being suggested.

Computational Mathematics Laboratory: The student is expected to familiarize himself herself with popular software’s for numerical co-imputation and optimization, Real life problems requiring knowledge of numerical algorithms for linear and nonlinear algebraic equations Eigen value problems. Finite difference methods. Interpolation, Differentiation. Integration Ordinary differential equations etc. should be attempted. Capabilities to deal with linear, integer and nonlinear optimization problems need to be developed. The objective of such a laboratory is to equip students to MODEL and simulate large-scale systems using optimization modeling languages. (The concerned teacher is expected to provide the necessary theoretical background before the student does the corresponding practical). To this end software’s like MATLAB, LINDO, MATHEMAT1CA, MAPLE can be adopted. Following course outline is suggested based on MATLAB and LINDO.
