Pookie’s dreams are bigger than she is. After all she’s only 14. But when you truly believe there are multiple ways for kids to get weapon grade explosives in this town, and you’re hell bent on producing the most epic play in history, are you really going to let your guidance counselor stand in your way? Join Pookie, her best friend Dynamo, Benny – the most popular gay kid in school, and Greta Van Susteren – the best techie this side of the Schuylkill, as they embark on an epic journey of life, art, revolution and the pursuit of more Facebook friends. July 17, 1959: Billie Holiday dies and soon after Frank O’Hara pens one of his most beloved poems - an intersection of elegy and love letter - “The Day Lady Died.” Co-produced by the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts 2013 and in partnership with The American Poetry Review, Azuka is creating a new work based on this poem, the character of this extraordinary man, and his love for the music of Billie Holiday.

FAILURE: A LOVE STORY

EAST COAST PREMIERE! MAY 8 – 26, 2013 Meet the Fail sisters: Nelly, Gerty and Jenny June. Enter their world of talking clocks, cock-a-toos and catastrophe. When a young man named Mortimer Mortimer stops by their clock shop on a Sunday drive none of their lives will ever be the same.
