CARS & COFFEE We thank Burke Wyatt for giving club members the information about two really good Car Shows in the month of February! Kenny and I went to the Scottsdale Cars and Coffee on Mayo Blvd. on February 2nd with our BGT, and were pleased to find that Chuck Schluter was there with his 1948 TC, and Ed Winkler with his 1964 Plymouth with a 426 wedge head engine. A factory car set up for the Drag Strip! Unfortu-nately, we never went far enough to see Ed’s Plymouth. There were so many cars to look at, and we walked and walked and didn’t make a dent in the number of cars gathered for that event! Once back at our BGT, we found that there were several guys interested in it, and of course, one guy wanted to know if we wanted to sell it! Nooooo! We did see a nice beige BGT, but never found it’s owner. The Concourse in the Hills event, in Fountain Hills is a once a year event, and unfor-tunately we had a conflict, and were unable to attend this one. This show is huge with around 700 cars! Three of the cars at the show belong to Mickey Saperstein. He took his 1923 Citroen, 1956 Citroen, and his Pemberton Grasshopper SS! We know that Joe Policastro came down from Flagstaff to view the cars, and we assume Burke Wyatt was also there. We apologize for any oversight if any other club members were there!

The Breakfast at the Phoenix Public Mar-ket was organized by Lee Purnell, of The AZ. MG Club, and the Roadrunners were invited to join them! Lee did a great job in making everyone feel welcome, by staying in the parking lot until every-one had arrived! There was a large group who braved the cold, several of them in open MG’s! Roadrunners who attended and enjoyed breakfast were: Sherwood & Jane Parker, in their TC, Norma Kafer & Jim Gordon, Norma & Dan Johansen in their TD, Steve Freegard & friend in Steve’s TC, Don & Ginger Pottenger, Dave & Gretchen Boyer in their MGA, and members of the AZ MG Club. I believe everyone ordered Breakfast, and ours was very good! There were 6 good looking MG’s lined up in a row in the parking lot, a great looking group, as well as a good variety. We even noticed some passers by who stopped to look at the cars!

1952 MG TDC

I received this car from my parents estate, Barbara and Orville Granquist. Orville bought the car on Sept. 17, 1973 from Charles Roush. It was restored by Dave’s Import Service to original condition inside and out September 6, 1990. Driven 205 miles. Kept in parents garage. Car returned to Dave’s Import by me on Nov. 9, 2017 to get the car back on the road. Service at Dave’s complete with mileage from restoration at 581. New tires all around. Although we love the car, a two-seater is just too small for our family.

Asking $19,900 Contact info: [email protected] or 480-595-8120, our home phone. Ask for Dan. Car is garaged in central Phoenix at my parents home. Interested buyers can contact us to make arrangements to see and drive the car.

This one owner project car is garaged in Central Phoenix and we would welcome contacts at my email: [email protected] We have replaced the tires but the car is not running and will need work in the interior. Asking $1400 or OBO.

Roadrunners, here is the registration form for GoF West 2019 that is being held in Pres-cott AZ this year. We hope a lot of you will sign up for the GoF this year as it is right in our backyard. This is a good way to get our cars out in public view.

Hello Members, I volunteered to coordinate the solicitation of auction items for this year’s GoF in Prescott, AZ August 12 – August 16! A lot of planning and coordination has gone into this GoF, the venue is great, and the outlook is that it should be a great one for all of us. We on the plan-ning committee hope that Arizona is well represented. I’m sure that I don’t need to remind you that the auction is one of the mandatory events for any GoF. This auction allows us to take care of any expenses that have not been covered by the income for the event, and, again, hopefully, gives us “seed money” for next year’s event. I can’t tell you how many times in the past few years that the Steering Committee members and Chairpersons of the GoFs were crossing their fingers hoping that the auction turned out well so the finances would balance in a positive direction. But it has worked out each year, thanks to your generous contributions—Thank You! Well, it’s time to ask for your contributions of auction items again. We could have used a few more items last year. I’m asking if you would consider contributing a bit more than you may have in the past. Go into your garage and find some of those MG items that have been gathering dust that you will probably never use and help us turn them into cash for the GoF. How about those great posters that have been rolled up for the past 20 years? And that extra set of Whitworth wrenches that you have been saving for when your others wear out? There are probably a lot of items that you have that others don’t but would like to have if only they could find one. However, we can’t use old greasy chassis parts. If you have good, clean, serviceable items, please consider donating them. Items don’t necessarily have to be MG related for the attendees to find value in them. If you do have some items to donate to this worthy cause, please let me know by e-mail ([email protected]) what the items are and bring them along to the GoF, or send them to me before 1 June: Dave Boyer, 3480 W. Kent Dr., Chandler, AZ, 85226. I am tracking each item(s) by the registrant’s name. Even if you can’t attend, we sure could use your items. Let’s make this event one that provides a lot of fun for the attendees and that keeps our finances in the black. Hope to see you there. Thank you, Dave Boyer Auction Coordinator GoF West 2018

This is a great opportunity to get your British car out for a drive on a Sunday morning once a month, or to drive “whatever” and enjoy the company of other folks who enjoy various British car marques. The breakfast is hosted by the various British car clubs taking turns to put together about a one hour drive to end up at an eating establishment for breakfast and camaraderie.

Sunday March 24th.

The DCTRA is hosting this breakfast run.

We always meet at the: North West Corner of 32nd St and Shea.

We will meet at 8:00 am and leave at 8:30 am on the tour.
